Skillbet is sadly doomed Skillbet is sadly doomed

They keep going through payment processors, we can't use playerize it seems to deposit anymore (yea, I ****ing know about dwolla, it just takes like three days to fund) there is also mazooma or whatever it is called if you use a big national bank which I and a lot of people don't

There are what 15 regs? about 50 - 70 randoms, stragglers, and first timers.

This site has been going how long?

I was going to deposit tonight and play for the first time in two months, but I can't even do that because they don't even have a decent payment processor. You would figure a company that claims to be fully legal, would be able to get a payment processor that would stick around more than a few months.

I tried it out and actually like the concept and game. But its definetely rough waters for a business to navigate. Their time to move in was between Black Friday and now. Try to establish a footprint as the "only legal game in town". And grab as much attention as you can and become the only player in the game. They weren't able to generate the buzz or traffic. Their window of opportunity may have closed. You also have way too many potential players who just did not want to put any money online anymore. You have shady payment processors. You have a more educated base of players who equate online poker with collusion, bots (the bad kind), HUDs, superusing et etc etc and don't want to play online. So Skillbet gets punished for sins that they never committed.

I loved it to, but when you are stuck playing the same 5 players over and over and over, it become freaking pointless.

Back on merge I go

I still wanted to play however... Just if they make me jump through hoops I am not going to waste my time to probably lose money.

Weird. I deposited with Visa 2 months ago.
Good news is Dwolla is the nuts. Faster/eaiser to set up and less fees than PayPal. My cashout went very smoothly.

I contacted live support a dozen times over the past week, it wasn't until this morning when I took the initiative after ibooboo informed me it worked for him and created a new account did I find the problem

I created the new account, and put in that I was from Missouri. I then got a message saying that it is not legal to play poker in the state of Missouri, then it asked me if I want sure I wanted to continue. It turns out they have lost their right to offer the game to Missourians. Something their support team was to ****ing incompetent to know.

What changed in Missouri? Curious to see if this is some sort of precedence.

I'm sorry you're having this problem. Missouri is an allowed state (which explains why our support was unaware of any change in status) ... this is a technical issue. Wondering if you might be able to get a screen shot of the relevant page for me as we can't replicate the issue on our end. Thanks for your help and your patience re this.

It's some sort of technical glitch that we're not able to replicate on our end. Missouri is allowed.

Do you have a screenshot of the message generated?

I find it interesting that someone from the "Show Me" State isn't producing a screen shot :P

Alright Whats going on. First this Missouri issue which is not clear. And then another post that they are leaving NY and NJ.
04-06-2013 , 12:12 PM
So sorry for my radio silence (I'm in the middle of a move, so have been working from the road). So here's the scoop: Missouri is not an issue (it's possible SuperRewards had some glitch, but we've been unable to replicate it).

NY and NJ are another story. I'm not privy to the details but from what I've heard our lawyers told management that to be on the conservative side we should not offer real money in those jurisdictions (I'm guessing the NJ law was the impetus for the reevaluation). We've asked our NY and NJ customers to cashout their accounts, that's all going smoothly.
04-08-2013 , 04:28 PM
So as states replicate the NJ legislation, Skillbet is going to exit those jurisdictions?

Wow!
