If the AI gets too good then everyone will be inclined to just fold every hand. As unintuitive as it sounds, you don't want the AI to be very good, just middle of the road.

there's enough variance that you'll win hands you shouldn't win.

Plus people will always want to play some hands instead of mucking.

Pretty sure SB = Skillbet, not small blind. She's saying that their entire customer base as a whole loses money to the AI players.

The machines are taking over

and yes from what I've seen so far is most players are negative against the computer.

I just got back from Las Vegas (yea, not a traditional Thanksgiving) and played all the poker I could handle over 3 days. Based on what I saw a lot of people could use some practice on Skillbet. Up $1800 playing $200NL games was pretty nice. Have to give Skillbet some brownie points for weaning me off of playing marginal starting hands.

That, IMO, is largely what separates the winners from the losers at SSNL. These days, most people know not to go broke with one pair, know to get value from their big hands, and figure out which boards are good to bluff on on at least a basic level. But sometimes a fish will lose a big pot playing ATo from UTG, or calling a 6x raise with A5o, and you'll never be in that situation to begin with.

any advice on certain regs to fade?
11-26-2012 , 12:32 PM
with the exception of extreme cases like 3 hands to go and you are up a 1 buy-in buffer, just play the AI to the best of your ability.

Or are you asking for a list of the good regs? Just try playing them, after all no matter what it's always you vs. the AI.
11-26-2012 , 03:38 PM
asking good regs. I understand we are playing against the cpu but obviously some people will be better at it. It does seem like such a fun idea although I miss poker, this is a great alternative.

Indeed, that's why Vegas is so great, get a ton of guys who only play home games and haven't figured out that aspect of poker.

Will probably shoot myself in the foot here but I'm a helpful guy by nature. Playing tight favors you in my experience. There are fewer "mind games" here.
11-26-2012 , 10:27 PM
yeah thanks for the advice.

Will you guys have more tables at the limits? 2 tables doesnt seem like enough especially if more people start to sign up.
11-27-2012 , 01:23 AM
yes, but anytime we need to open more -- just ping live chat and we'll do it (someone's usually available to do it but not 100%).

we are also working to automate that soon...

Fantastic, thanks for the help

One other thing, once we unlock our deposit bonus. What good will points be? Or do we still get $5 per 120 points regardless?

Good question, I assume you'll be able to get poker chips and the usual swag at some point.
