How does a raise to 8 get a fold but a shove gets a call?

The outcome sure upsets me. But I just cant understand why the AJ would call 50bb but fold 8 bb after putting in 3.

the bot is probably thinking the raise to 8 indicates strength. Where as a monster hand wouldnt shove 50bb over a 3bb raise.


thats just how it looks to me. I would give more respect to a 8bb raise rather than some 50bb 3-bet


it could be argued that the 8bb raise could be called however

that is a valid point, just surprised they folded to the 3b to 8.

Saw some interesting hands today like J10ss calling a blank shove aipf.

But also the computer folded AK, they bet 3 on the button and me from BB shoved JJ. Weird seeing that fold.

i'm pretty sure its because they use randomization with parts of their range in just about every situation. i.e. vs. a 3bet with a hand like AJ it will sometimes call, sometimes raise, and sometimes fold. any time you and your opponent use a different betsize you get a different roll on any plays where the bot uses randomization.

edit: probably more accurate to say that you get a different roll any time those frequencies change and that frequencies change based on bet sizing.

can I ask you something? Why do you shove there? You have a monster and you want to see some action, a call, a 4bet, whatever, why do you shove?

Because you can get 50 bbs in pre against a spazzbot with a dominated hand.... it's often correct in this game if you have a read on the bot that they call shoves light.
It worked beautifully he just happened to get sucked out on.

no offense, but don't want to discuss strategy I use.
