.50 inactivity fee the pits .50 inactivity fee the pits

Just got an email from skillbet saying that I should Come back and play because I haven't played there for a while in the same email they notified me of a $6.50 inactivity fee should you not play for four months in a row.

This works out to something like 50% of my account.

How could this be fair?

https://www.skillbet.com/terms.php#Fees

its in the terms and conditions...

"Inactivity Fee: If an account is inactive for a period of four months, a monthly inactivity fee of $6.50 will be charged."

wow! That fee seems criminal to me. And monthly? So OP's account will literally be blinded out in 2 months if he takes a 4 month break. That should be changed imo.

I think you only need to play a single game, and if you don't have time for a single game in 4 months, you should probably withdraw.

i think it would be criminal if the fee wasnt posted in the terms and conditions.

literally every poker site that has ever existed usually has a fee of this nature (dormant accounts losing some kind of value after a certain amount of time of inactivity)

lol.

yea for whatever reason if you cant play for 4+ months at a time, just withdraw. You can receive your cashout in 2-3 days for dwolla or 1 week by check.

We give away a TON of money in bonuses, free $, etc.

The reason companies that legally do business in the US do this (e.g., King.com), have policies like this is that if we have no policy, then at some point the state gets this money. It's called escheating, and we don't want to get escheated by the state!

So all you have to do is either withdraw or play 1 game every 4 months.

Note: we've never charged this inactivity fee, but at some point we'll have to for accounts that are 100% inactive for a long time.

Yo,

here a solution - play a $3 game, even if you lose your entire BI you'll still be -$3 which is much better then -$6.5

I think $6.50/month after just 4 months is pretty insane.

I don't have a problem with inactivity fees, but they are supposed to be for long term maintenance of clearing out dormant accounts, not a potential profit center.

Most companies don't start charging for a minimum of 12-24 months, and even then, it is normally not more than $1-$2/month.

Many states are also outlawing inactivity fees so Renee's post about money being lost to the state is completely false, if anything, it would just go to the lost property part of the state where the rightful owner (or estate) could still claim it at a later time.

The fee in its current form is absurd.
