how are we ranking the non skt/edg teams in in korea/china? does fnatic/anyone else outside of those two regions even compete?

There's no reason they couldn't end up on the same side of the bracket one time in three right?

Not really excited by Korea's second or third seeds this year, very interested in how China's second or third seeds fare against the west. I think Fnatic is the only western team that will make it out of groups.

that sounds about right, I could see Fanatic being below at least 2 korean/chinese teams just since the regions are so much stronger, there were only 2 respectable teams besides fanatic and the 9/10 slots are just embarassing bad. The 9 seed in China is WE and they beat everyone besides fanatic in bo5 and probably goes 14-4 or 15-3 if they replaced Copehagen

I think the non-EDG Chinese teams are about the level of Fnatic and that level is better than the non-SKT Korean teams. Those teams all have a weakness or a player that can be banned out. The Chinese teams are just stronger overall.

Origen and H2k are both solid. No threat to get out of the group stages, but should comfortably beat wild card.

I agree with Dlorc's list only Origen and H2K are better than any NA team

Like I said, I think the Worlds tiers are

SKT/EDG
Fnatic/LPL 2 and 3
LCK 2 and 3
LOL NA and other regions

I think Fnatic has a shot at pushing a series with SKT/EDG to 5 games. Some of it will depend on patches until then, for now I think EDG is the strongest team as SKT is very reliant on Faker carrying them in the early-mid game and waiting until Bang/MaRin farm up, which they are very good at particularly MaRin, but with the meta shifting more towards control mages and away from massive top lane tanks with the item changes, that hurts the style that SKT most effectively implement.

It seems like the meta is shifting more to 3-threat comps rather than the 2-threat + tank top or Protect the Kog/Jinx comps, which I think favors EDG and Koro/Pawn more than SKT.

It's obviously quite hard to compare across regions, I'd say fnc could end up anywhere between 4th and 7th depending on fixing their early game troubles. Their mid game coordination/team fighting is enough to get them back into the game vs H2K/Origen but I don't think the same would be true vs the Eastern teams at Worlds.
I do think LGD is better though unless TBQ really drops the ball which tbf could happen.

For the bracket, IG is #3, SS is #4. QG is #1 if they win vs LGD(edg #2), #2 if they lose(edg #1) so today's match had absolutely nothing on the line

I think EDG's season long dominance is a high point, they were super dominant in both splits, their consistency is their best trait.
