That ashe nerf is just a placebo nerf. The R damage isn't even the problem, the problem is the potential to stun someone for 3s. Besides that I don't even think the ashe's ult is that problematic it's her perma slow insta kill Q and passive that destroys everything.

To be fair about the riven buff; it's pretty much only a buff vs tanks. Squishy people will already die with her current R so after taking that into consideration it isn't as crazy as you'd think.

Gragas is getting a heavy favorite treatment just like certain other champions. Pretty hilarious how obvious it really is.

Patch 6.17 with balance adjustments for 27 different champions.

Nerf Ashe, Jhin, and Sivir while buffing Ezreal? That's going to be thrilling to watch.

Ye buffing Ezreal is odd. Think he'll now be in a tier of his own as the best. At least they buffed Vayne and Corki, if they had buffed Kalista too we would have had every adc as a viable pick.

I'm pretty new to LOL, started playing in ~March. Been following NALCS, reading 2+2 and reddit threads, whatever. My impression of Riot, from these experiences, is that they are an arrogant and almost wholly incompetent company and that this guy Marc Merrill is a bloviating jackass. Great game, though.

Is this about right?

Still allows duos which I'd prefer not, but hey, now I've got a reason to get to Diamond.

Brandon Beck and Mark Merrill founded Riot at age 24 and 25 respectively, they made some good decisions and now are a 1,000 man organization. They definitely stick foot in mouth more than they should, but the company owners are Chinese and almost certainly don't care. There are definitely hundreds of people doing good work at Riot, but also some overpromoted idiot kids.

I don't think the game would get better for me if it was taken over by Activision or Electronic Arts, so I can only hope is the people who I agree with win against some of the entrenched forces working against them. Company definitely not wholly incompetent.

I'm not a prude and this is a nitpick for sure, but does anyone else feel like all the swearing that Riot throws around in many of their dialogues make them look really bad? I understand dropping some of the non-F-bombs here and there in their forum answers to show that "they're human" and "they understand", but I feel like they're always trying too hard to prove to everyone that they're just like everyone else in an effort to assuage some of the pressure they're usually under. Like, when they admit that something is "****ed", it somehow absolves them of some of the blame that should be facing.

I dunno. Just ranting a little. Nothing specific, although the thoughts have been bouncing around for a while, I think hearing Kled open with "Where the **** are we?" kinda got me thinking about the roundtable thing a while back.

They also added a kind of Sion Ult to all the recent champions, looks like insane mobility is a new thing

Yeah I kind of hate it. Like it's becoming where any champ that doesn't have a global ult is almost becoming unplayable in competitive. Like the only ones that are playable are either supports (of which Tahm Kench is always highly picked because of his ability to affect the map), or top laners (who always take TP anyways).

I kind of think it sucks, because when you can globally respond to anything, it really takes away from fun assassin champs like a Zed or LB who can take an early kill or two to roam and pick up more kills, because they are almost helpless after blowing all of their CD's and when the global responds, they can usually trade a kill back.

You can't change the "constitution" of your game like they are doing, and doing it after releasing 120 champions is absolutely terrible

The rule was, moving in lol is slow, this is how the game is balanced since day 1, you can't bring champions that cross the river in 4 seconds in the same game where half the champions don't even have a dash

Yeah I agree with that. I get the cool things you can do with the global ults in competitive, but in Solo Queue it just can turn the games into kind of a ****show.

LoL was always predicated on, vision is very important. If you know where your opponents are then you know where it's safe to be and farm, you know where you have a numbers advantage. Now vision is more of a tool for "see if they're going to use globals to engage on us" thing. Like the Jhin/Bard combo is totally obnoxious. It's also getting to the point where some of the new champs are basically rendering old champs totally obsolete. Like why would you want a Nami or a Leona when the Bard Ult is basically an equally good engage/disengage?

I think a good mastery system change would be to allow level 3 mastery via bot games with bonus percentage, and maybe to level 5 via normals with bonus percentage. It would encourage players to try a champion in bots or normals before rolling into ranked. It would be better if there were any sort of reward tied to the system, like a chest+key fragment for every champion you reach lvl 5 with, something like that. It should also reset on the season (maybe you can keep the point total somewhere) but I have plenty of level 5 masteries on champions I haven't played in a very long time. (e.g. Udyr, Lux, Poppy)

That would only matter if you had to be level 5 to play a champion in ranked. You don't. I don't understand your post. No one cares about champion mastery, do they?

I care about level 4 mastery's. Feel like it hits harder when you drop one of those after an outplay, or when you flash it over your dead body as a **** up

I just laugh anytime someone uses that thing. It actually can keep me from tilting because it reminds me that it's probably just some kid on the other side and beyond that, if I died anyway, it's probably more likely because I ****ed up than it is that I 'got styled on'

Lol usually when I die it's because I ****ed up. Very rarely it's because the enemy outplayed me. Same is true when I kill someone else.

By definition if you **** up and your opponent kill you, he outplayed you
League of Legends Meta/Patch/General Discussion Quote

Okay, I guess we got a dictionary definition man to the rescue.

When I fight someone top lane and my opponent hasn't shown the skill required to win a 1v1 with the current scenario (hp, items, minion wave, etc) and he

1.) does nothing special during the brawl and I make some bonehead misckicks, I ****ed up.

2.) makes a sick play that results in my death, yes, he outplayed me.

I realize your argument of defining 'outplay' is akin to "How do I outplay someone that won't fold?" : "Don't bluff into him and take him to valuetown when you have it"

But come on. I'm not saying you're wrong. I'm saying, come on.

It's splitting hairs a bit, but I think in most peoples' minds there is some distinction there between your opponent making a good play and you making a bad play.

pretty obvious every kill i make was all me and my talent, teammates did nothing to help and opponents played it perfect and every one of my deaths was i misclicked and idiots on the other team got lucky plus my teammates played it terribly
