Yeaaaaaaaap. They really need to wipe the game, but there's too many goodies to be sold on the RMAH so it will never happen. My friends who used their own c# bot for the royal crypts had it going basically 24/7. One made over 80 million and the other made close to 40 million breaking urns. People running this themselves were more efficient and could actually loot the blues/rares/legendaries that dropped adding more to their gold per hour. This is what caused the problem, because it poured tons and tons of gold into the game.

Just as a point of reference I leveled up 2 60s legit (one PL) and have farmed inferno plenty and just got the achievement for picking up 5 mill gold. People breaking urns were adding way more gold per hour to the economy and ruined the game. Especially all the gold farming sites who had who the **** knows how many farmers constantly doing this adding 400k+ an hour into the game. But hey, they didn't need a large-scale open beta to test the economy and AH. Not at all...

everything but the top 0.5% of items (hell prob even higher than that) will be near worthless

you guys point to things being cheaper meaning that gold is "gaining value," but you are just looking at the gold #, not the actual purchasing power of gold.

as the market becomes oversaturated with more items, of course lower end items get cheaper, but the overall purchasing power of gold is also dropping like a rock. the hyperinflation in the item market will catch up with the gold soon and you'll be able to gear out a character to beat act IV inferno for 4.99

Bad testing. They let too many exploits into the game. I don't think they predicted the Azmo/ZK farming, royal crypts, aspects, etc.

So there is no reason to put anything up in the auction house other than the Goldy items we find? I guess the one good side to this is that I will be able to buy items cheap in the gold auction house so I can actually finish act 2. Overall, it sucks and should lead to people leaving the game quicker than we thought. sadpanda.jpg

A million gold has gone from 35$ to 12$ in a month according to general chat spam. Once everyone sitting on a ton of gold has a legit way to sell it easily it'll go even lower even faster IMO.

This is blizzard, they know a lot more than you are giving them credit for.

Once they tune legendaries the entire economy is going to drastically change.

If RMAH goes up tomorrow gold will drop to $6, but top end gear will probably more than double in price.

Use all your gold right now lol. Even if what you buy right now ends up not being top end gear in a week or two, hopefully you can farm more efficiently with it to find something good to sell for money to upgrade.

If I had saved my gold I would be sitting on like ~300 million. Since purchasing the highest piece of gear in every slot, the effective gold of my entire set is probably 525 mil+. When I originally purchased most of my items they were worth 1-10 million. Now similar, or even worse pieces of gear sell at 5 times the price. I did however have to spend 100 mil on my off hand and weapon

I am 100% sure blizzard knew this... that's why inferno was so impossible a couple weeks ago.

The gear barbs and monks are loltanking Act 3 with today may be considered godly but in a few months, it will be standard issue.

Like in D2, people will be paying exorbitant premiums for the "perfects" for tiny upgrades. Everyone else will get the hand-me-downs for cheap.

$9 is a great price. But consider all the botters and farmers who are sitting on a billion gold. They will all undercut each other constantly. The only good thing that will sell on the AH is actual gear. If it's one of the best pieces in the AH, it will hold its value much longer.

I doubt the AH we have now is going to change all that much once the RMAH opens. Some people might move over and that's good. But a lot of people don't trust anything that involves giving up their paypal and/or credit card information - including young kids who won't have access.

Maybe the economy will change just a little bit, but I don't think there will be a huge difference in items that are attainable through the gold AH.

I know I won't be doing any real money exchanging unless I find the absolute best piece of gear ever known to this game.

Gold will drop to around $2/m when rmah comes up. As mentioned, the main factor will be that everyone will have an easy and legitimate way to sell their gold, as most people do not bother with forums.

Immediately after launching, gold will probably be at w/e value the spammers currently have it set at, but due to competition it will quickly plummet as everyone desperately tries to convert their gold to cash.

why does no one also factor in that a lot more people will be buying?
