Re: Diablo 3 LC/General Error 37 Discussion Thread
Solsek - I totally agree with that the it should be ilvl 61 = a1, ilvl 62 = a2, ilvl 63 = a3/a4 and they should just adjust the difficulty slightly. The real problem is that 95% of the rares you get in a1 Inferno aren't even level 60 requirement, and there's a huge difference in that stats, especially weapons, on 59 vs ilvl 63. So much so that I'd dare say almost every a1 weapon you'll find in Inferno is 100% useless.
Yes some of the armor and rings and ammys will still sell, but I've put over 100 hours into farming and I've yet to find one item worth over 2mm and only ONE ITEM over a million. This is from days of doing 20+ butcher runs, and recently a fair amount of siegebreaker. Yeah sure I made some gold, but once you get those mid-grade pieces for 200-500k a pop, you're looking at 3mill+ for a single upgrade. There is nothing fun about grind, grind grinding ****ty items to maybe sell for 20k a pop, especially with the AH cap. I could grind A1 with over 250 mfwith buffs and still not find ****, and that's just not right.
Furthermore, you don't know how much easier they're going to make a2 and a3. You're already assuming it's going to be an huge nerf, when it might be something so simple as lowering monster damage just a bit so you can live through more than one hit. I'd say right now latency and lucky dodges matter almost as much as skill. Everyone uses the same builds and damn near the same strategies, so where exactly does skill come in? If I wanted to die in one hit I'd go to the arcade and play space invaders. It's just flawed game design that you die in one shot in Inferno with some classes. Especially when the designers specifically mentioned that they made hit boxes bigger on purpose because they think being able to avoid every hit is a "bad way to play the game that requires no skill."
I understand your point and I'd be pissed if I were in your position too and was sitting on amazing gear and over 100mm gold or w/e you have now. But fact of the matter is, I'm on the other end of the spectrum. I've probably put just as much time as you into the game, leveling and farming, and have **** all to show for it because I didn't slip in the window where you could sell a1 gear for a lot and buy the a3-a4 gear that people exploiting broken moves (FA and SS) were selling for "cheap" (by today's market standards). I didn't roll a DH and wizard first, I made a barb and WD and hated both at 60 so I then made ANOTHER character and just started farming act 3. I basically had nothing a week ago, and now it's painfully hard for me to upgrade a single slot since I haven't been lucky on drops. I don't even want perfect gear, as all my slots are far from it, I just want to able to find or purchase more than a slight upgrade after a week of farming.

Re: Diablo 3 LC/General Error 37 Discussion Thread
heh, I keep forgetting they're nerfing act II/III
ya, if the difficulty comes down on act II you don't need those items to drop in act I, and ultimately I do agree that the best items in the game shouldn't drop in act I.

Re: Diablo 3 LC/General Error 37 Discussion Thread
Even if Act 1 becomes optimal for most people, is that really that big of a deal? It'll still take forever to farm perfect gear. The market will get saturated with good but not godly gear faster, but is that really that bad of a thing? I mean it obviously is for people with that type of gear right now, but it's good for the people without it.
I mean back then Mephisto and Pindle and Cows were the easiest places ever to run and they dropped very good gear. I get your point about why making it easier, but on the flip side, why make it harder? It frustrates a lot of people the way the game is right now, and they simply don't find it fun even if you think there is a a solution to it. They've applied their own solution which you disagree with, even though you can still just spend more time/find more efficient ways to get better and faster gear than the more casual folks.

sweet!
did my first butcher co-op run today, showed my friend where to find quick champion packs (how long before they nerf festering woods?)
butcher was a total piece of cake (barbarian/witch doctor) as warcry buffs his pets, although it was kindof annoying because revenge never proc'd (I never got hit lol)

Re: Diablo 3 LC/General Error 37 Discussion Thread
Are you people complaining about act2/3 playing mostly solo? I remember when I started playing act2 I had tons of trouble solo, was almost impossible (as barb) but playing with a monk friend made it 10x easier and we actually finished the whole act while I was still barely beating packs solo(and very inefficiently so). This was obviously a great way to get some decent gear(to sell on AH so I could buy better gear for myself) which made the transition much easier. Now it's the same with act4, I have quite a bit of trouble solo but can beat it with a buddy (done a couple 5stack diablo runs already). I would say we've been about equally geared the whole way fwiw.

Just gotta practice avoidance. I think I died maybe total of 7 times between the 4 packs(I actually died twice to the one I skipped)

I do about 5-6 siegebreaker runs an hour and have never had an issue with making a game.
I would bet 10 mil IGG that decently geared people could clear act 1 four times faster than act 3 (normalizing for act length of course).

until they've changed it, it should be 1 guaranteed rare similar to boss.
I already get 1+ rare from elites though even with no stacks since i equip mf before killing it. I usually get 2 rares from at least one of the 5 elites i kill when building up NV so I should be getting 2-3 rares usually from elites with 5 stacks?
I agree with what you're saying, when my monk who can't stand act 3 WHITE mobs but can tank the entire map including 2+ elites in Act 1 all at once. I'm speaking the end of Act 1 jailer room btw
-------------------
Also I'd like to apologize to a WD that joined my room while I was finishing Act 3, you can join my game whenever i'm solo as I don't mind carrying but usually when someone else is in there my friend doesn't want to carry anyone let alone play with a stranger.

Re: Diablo 3 LC/General Error 37 Discussion Thread
Oh ok. My mistake, I guess I missed up the numbers. I do about 30 siegebreaker runs a day and about half of the ones I kill don't drop a rare. Others drop 2...so I guess it averages out to roughly 1 per pack. It's going to be a joke though in act 1 when you can kill a pack in 2 seconds they will 100% drop a rare. Farming will be mass killing of mini-goblins.
