Once this has been completed, proceeds from the sale of items in the currency-based auction house can be deposited into their third-party payment service account. "Cashing out" would then be handled through the third-party payment service. Note that this process will be subject to applicable fees charged by Blizzard and the third-party payment service. Also, any proceeds from the sale of items in the currency-based auction house that have been deposited into the Battle.net account will not be transferrable to the third-party payment service account.
Once it's in your blizzard balance account, it's stuck there and you can only spend it on more blizzard stuff. You might luckbox your way in something of value, but it's a massive waste of time to do it seriously.

Re: Diablo 3

It's in their FAQ on the official website, I assume it's true.

The only question remaining is if the transfer of money from the D3 auction house to Battle.net account/3rd party payment service is done per item (or per auction for stackable item if it's possible) or if you can accumulate money there before choosing how to cash out.

edit: Of course, since the listing and transaction fees are fixed, you can buy gold for your entire blizzard balance, sell it back and cash out.

Re: Diablo 3

pretty sure the bolded part just means you won't be able to move the money to your bnet account (to pay for subscription or something, I'm guessing) and then cash it out, but you CAN cash it out straight from the game...why else would they include this part:

Quote:
Once this has been completed, proceeds from the sale of items in the currency-based auction house can be deposited into their third-party payment service account. "Cashing out" would then be handled through the third-party payment service. Note that this process will be subject to applicable fees charged by Blizzard and the third-party payment service.

Can players choose to get cash from currency-based auction house sales, instead of having the proceeds deposited into their Battle.net account?

Yes, as an advanced feature, players will have the option of attaching an account with an approved third-party payment service to their Battle.net account.

You can have Real Money auctions pay out to your battle.net account or to a 3rd party blah blah (read: Paypal).

Any money that goes to battle.net account can not go to paypal (in effect, can't be cashed out).

That's my reading of it.

Not all regions will support this advanced feature at launch. Region-specific details, as well as details regarding which third-party payment services will be supported and the fee that Blizzard will charge for the cash-out process, will all be provided at a later date.

Notice the unidirectional arrow between $$ and Battle.net and the lack of arrow between paypal and Battle.net.

edit: 3rd party payment service may not be available in every region and there will be fees every time you cash out.

Re: Diablo 3

Im hoping were talking about 3 seperate accounts here. Your diablo auction account, your bnet account and your paypal account.
