Re: Diablo 3

I just don't understand the problem about respecs.

Let's say I have a fireball sorc and I want a lightning one. If I spend one week leveling a new one I have it, or if I respec I have it. Either way, I have a lightning sorc now. How does it matter?

Except I get to try stuff out, mess around for fun and not waste all my time but actually get do play the parts of the game that I like.

If you encounter me in the game, however, it is the same. You either encounter my old fire sorc or my new lightning sorc. So it is not like it hurts other players.

This.

If you think D2 was a 5 hour game, then it really wasn't for you. Oh... BTW, at any given time there are still 50K+ D2 games being run on BattleNet.

5 hours = 1 decade me thinks

Re: Diablo 3

Any speculations on what the last will be? The obv answer would be ama but I don't think they would keep it as the last one. I'm guessing a new one, like mesmer in GW.

In a perfect world with no lagspikes I could maybe agree with this...but I mean come on...how frustrating is it when you've spent days of playtime on a character and then die due to lag which you have no control over and will inevitably happen given enough time...I like the idea of a huge exp loss like 5 or 10 levels like someone else suggested.

Not exactly. Lets say you are playing as a Zeal pally and can't beat some boss for whatever reason. Is switching to a Hammerdin going to help you a lot when all your items are zeal orientated? It may actually make you worse. Respecing in DII is more for PvP. Blizz basically said "hey we understand that you've been playing this game for the last 10 years and want an FBall sorc instead of a Blizz sorc so here have a respec instead of getting rushed and botting to an acceptable level just use the same character you already had and don't waste your time doing those things that are so so boring after about the 50th time that we can't actually believe you are still playing the game."

Lagbat is pretty horrible. Thats a knowing any HC player must be cosnstantly aware of. No worse way to die. But I'd say thats not a problem since spike from bnet odds are almost non-existent and its up to the player to choose a decent ISP for no lagspikes.

If you mean high level as in lvl 95v95 then yeah, its no competition with HC. Skillwise howerver, any decent hc player would demolish in sc pvp.

Obviously anyone with a cell in their brain would swap the gear also.

If you know of a provider that has no lagspikes with a reasonable price I would love to know. I have time warner and as far as I know that is all that's available where I live, we have the turbo boost or w/e their crap is that's supposed to be better than normal and I still get dc's playing poker due to timeouts...just a ****ty time warner infrastructure, they have come out like 6 or 7 times over the past year and admitted they have a problem somewhere up the line but have done nothing to fix it...I'm sure there are other people in similar situations...sorry for my rant about time warner but they drive me crazy

It's true that sometimes you're just locked into a crummy carrier.

Re: Diablo 3

My connection has reasonable price and connectivity is as good as it gets in here. I live in pretty much non-existent country but we've been blessed with unbelievably solid connection.

The new skill tree system where you have a cap of 5 for every difficuly, so 15 total as for now. Seems like they wanna make you distribute skills more rather than stamp only a couple.

Re: Diablo 3

Wow.

http://us.blizzard.com/diablo3/world/systems/pvp.xml

Looks like they are going to make pvp separate from the single player. Arena based. Random. Team oriented. So disappointing.

Quote:
Our aim for Diablo III's PvP is to set you up with dangerous, exciting gladiatorial matches, let you battle it out with other players at your own pace, and allow you to proudly display your rewards. We've added a robust system to remove the obstructions that may have kept you out of the action, so that you can focus on what really matters: answering the age-old question of 'who would win in a fight' -- with a gauntlet to the face.
Letting you battle at "your own pace" is counter to the idea of Diablo. If there's no way to 1v1 or no hostile, that kills it for me.

Also, demon hunter? Come on, skills are assassin skills/zon skills ported over.
