Ditto. I played that one next-to-last and was really surprised. Might make my first character a demon hunter.

Re: Diablo 3

If anyone hasn't got a chance at the beta, let me know via pm. Not asking for or accepting any money, but this offer is limited to people who post in this thread and have been around a little while.

If it matters, it's a US region account.

Probably just do like 5 days at a time, depending on interest levels.

Re: Diablo 3

So far I've finished up to the King with Barbarian and Demon Hunter. Tried a little bit with the Monk.

I like the graphics. The game can be fun, but it's kind of a little mind numbing just running around and killing things.

I got a lot of nice gear with my Demon Hunter.

Anyways, so what happens after I finish up to the King with a hero? How do I rerun stuff? Can I get better gear?

Or is it a 1 time deal with each hero for each run, since it is the beta?

How does that all work?

Also, eventually later in the game as you continue to gear up, do you start looking like a badass? Like, in Warcraft you gear up and eventually you start looking really awesome. Does that happen in D3 also? Or do you always look pretty basic like you do at the start?

Re: Diablo 3

You can replay any quest you want at any point when you start up a new game.

Also ya as you progress in the game your gear will become looking cooler and more ornate, it was like that in D2 also, but the number of models was quite limited, expect a ton more customization in D3. In addition to every piece of gear looking different, there's also like a dye system where you can customize the colors of just about everything you get too. Here is a screenshot from a slide at blizz con just showing a demon hunter as a basic example

Here are the D2 models for just the armor, you can see how things progressed as gear got better, despite the limited number of models

I got the crafting thing leveled fairly far, I guess. To the point where it was like 1500g per 'learn' and it took 5 learns to get to a new level. Could craft some level 14-20 rares or something to that effect. Obv couldn't equip it =P

Re: Diablo 3

I still don't quite get it though.

Say I run my Barbarian through and kill the King. How do I do it so I can kill him again?

Also, maybe I just missed a lot, but do these maps change? I feel like I was going a few different directions, and seeing different things, a couple times.

I just ran through some places in a public game. That was fun running with other people. Seems like it makes it more enjoyable and everything carries over.

Is there any way to send things to your other heroes? And, is there an auction house that I have access to?

Progression in D3 is apparently driven by a quest system, it defaults you to your most progressed quest, buty ou can select past quests to do the content over again.

Your stash (the box in town) is shared between yoru characters on that account, just drop stuff inthe box to give stuff to your other characters.

Re: Diablo 3

I can't bring myself to finish grinding to level 13 from 10 on the account that a friend let me borrow.

It just feels like it would be a waste of time with no real benefit.

I guess I'm not as in love with the game as some of these guys with 13's of every class and who have all achievements done.

Re: Diablo 3

Yeah, I considered that. I looked at the skills menu and my final decision on that was pretty much, "meh".

I just want to PvP. I should probably still be playing WoW arenas. But I sold my account and will absolutely positively never do THAT grind over again.

Diablo 3 arenas have such hidden potential for greatness. Unfortunately, I think they're going to really **** it up with their seemingly hostile attitude toward PvP.

Re: Diablo 3

New blizzard is seems to be highly anti-competition, they think (probably rightfully so) the average gamer is "scared" of legit competition and want to create a warm, fuzzy, happy sort of environment.

Hell, even in SC2, a highly competitive game by it's nature, they freaking removed the losses from the profile display and designed a whole ladder system designed to make everyone feel like a winner all the time.

There's nothing wrong with trying to make a game that has broad appeal, but I think they are getting to the point where they are sacraficing some quality to do so.

That's what happens when you become part of some huge public company. Your goal is now "to provide value to the shareholders".
