Grats on getting to the beta! :P
wtf is 1050p resolution? Is that a typo or 1080p minus the system tray?

Re: Diablo 3
Huh, wasn't NDA already lifted a week ago, when all those streams started appearing?
Or was there different NDA for all media representatives?

Re: Diablo 3
There's a thread about that in NDA, totalbiscuit probably thought press NDA was lifted just because Athene was streaming. Seems to be quite a confusing situation, maybe Athene (and few other "e-celebs") streaming the beta currently don't consider themself as media/fansite representatives.
Nothing would make me more happy than seeing Athene banned from beta ^^

Re: Diablo 3
I think it's pretty funny to look at forums (not 2+2, people here in general tend to have some basic understanding of economy) for all the RMAH speculation. Hundreds of thousands people planning on MFing to make money on AH.
Any guesses how much avarage competent MFer is gonna make per hour?
My guess is $1.50/hr, possibly slightly more in the first few months.
And the funniest thing is that after playing 200hrs/mo people are gonna be like "zomg I made $300 playing Diablo this month" without realizing they turned playing (hopefully) an awesome game into brainless non-fun grinding just to make that $1.5/hr.

Re: Diablo 3
In places like China, $1.5/hr would be ridiculously nice for playing a video game, but then again they probably will have bots doing it.

Re: Diablo 3
Yeah I would be amazed if 1,5$/hr is standard for randoms, maybe the best MFers can do that. It is all speculation, but since after a month or so everyone and his mother will be MFing all the time, prices will plummet for all but perfect HOTO type items.

Re: Diablo 3
only one who'll make any real money of the AH is Blizzard. And maybe some slave owners in China.

Re: Diablo 3
If there are charges simply for listing items, then this will be a pretty good solution by blizzard, and it shows that they aren't implementing this to make tons of money.
In Wow people go off to third parties to buy gold for big ticket items. Because there's a demand for it, said third parties have reason to farm gold (and items, etc). But, as a result, because the players buy gold the economy they're in gets inflated because they'll buy everything they need with this new found gold, and will buy it for greater and greater prices as more gold trickles in.
So for Diablo, when the big ticket items get sold for money instead of in-game currency nothing else is impacted. The economy isn't inflated for all of the other items, which is good for the players that wouldn't buy gold otherwise.
Personally, I'd rather the AH was implemented in a way that only took a cut of the sale price. It'd be easier to sell anything for $$ (though you'd make very, very little) and blizzard would make even more money. With the current solution, some people will post cheaper items despite the listing fee, but don't kid yourself....far, far less than would list if a listing fee wasn't there, and blizzard knows this.
Blizzard will make less money with a listing fee, but I doubt the genesis of the RMAH was "hey, how can we turn Diablo into a bigger money maker?"...my guess is that development thought a long time about how to deter people from (1) farming gold to sell for money, and (2) buying gold.
