Playing + singing is tough, I know Im terrible at it. If you only have 1 mic it's hard to get a good mix as well and recording direct to the computer that's usually all you can do. It sounded good though, nice work.

@ Acemanhattan: Your songs were very enjoyable and well written. I like your soulful voice. I thought Notoriously Sweet was particularly good.

@ Reaper421: That was some good shredding. You should definitely post the whole song once you guys finish it. Your Halloween song was well written and spooky. I really hated that movie where the people were lost in the old hospital. What a snooze! lol

Here's a couple of mine that I re-did because people were saying how badly my recordings sucked. I bought some new recording equipment. It sure is a lot easier to work with. Hopefully it sounds better.

I don't know how to post videos, but some of you might enjoy:

7/8 for guitar, or if you'd like to arrange some piano or violin to go along with it that would kick ass.

Am/Em/D/D/Am/Am/D7,F2/G repeat a few times then turn on the distortion and **** around with the Am with an accent C on the 7th beat.

I like to add some pulls and hammers where I feel like it, particularly in the D and Am measures, also some C/D/C slides on the Am measures.

If you're getting bored with 4/4 time, give it a try.

Very impressive! What influenced this? Neat style. Reminds me of buskers and classical music.

Thanks for taking the time to listen, moo buckets...I'm glad you liked it.
I do have some classical background. However, my main influence were early pickers like Chet Atkins, Buster Jones, etc. and currently Tommy Emmanuel.
It was kind of interesting of making the change from classical to, basically, a Travies picking style. I enjoy writing my own music.

No kidding, I would have guessed Atkins and Emmanuel. You pulled it off. Thanks for sharing!

I guess, I give music lessons and I've done some lessons on Garageband. That's the only program I know very well but I guess recording principles apply to any program as long as you know your way around.

I still have a lot to learn. I only started doing home recording in 2008 I believe. Plus I only record my own songs and it takes time to write them first. I think I've done somewhere between 30 and 40 songs since then, I should check that out!

Thanks for listening, by the way. I've got lots more on the way!

Thanks moo. I'll enter my new song in the next showcase if you want to wait. This thread has pretty much died, but it's still fun to share stuff. Hopefully it will pick up again.

First time ever recording any of my own material. Not that I've written that much either. Couple semi-complete songs, and lots of random pieces of lyrics. Feedback on anything appreciated.
