oh yeah... Prime is the way to go! the body has little to do with a great picture... the lens has everything to do with it. Save some money, think used lenses.

Yeah I like the canons because you can install magic lantern custom firmware on them which is awesome and unlocks all sorts of helpful features but when it comes to the picture lenses is where it really matters. I might not get chance to really use my camera much again until after the semester is over (hopefully the reason why will make for some epic posts in the studio, hehe) but for summer I totally want to have some nice primes.

thanks, usually they start off as sketches on paper just basic line work (some oil/canvas) they then get scanned or photographed and then i go to town on them in photoshop

it's called tufting... though I have also done Knotting.

those are 100% Virgin Wool and weight between 60-80lb each, probably more. (depending on size). they are around 5lbs a sq ft, very textural and dimensional because the "piles" are different heights.

apologies for my ignorance but i want to do something special on the walls in my hallway and most of my stuff is probably way tooooo 'busy' for this sort of thing, what sort of limitations can i expect to run into with the tufting or knotting process?

(a wip not what i want done)

Impressive! Love the last one.

I went on a fishing trip with my drone - didnt get a photo but do i do have a screengrab from video. Love the sweet light-to-dark ratio i was able to get shooting at sunset.
