the only way i would ever click on that Smooshbandcamp link is if I was promised that 1 or all of the girls was performing the band camp ritual of sticking a flute up her snatch
they have released one album called Why I'd Try, recorded by the guy from Shellac. That's Steve Albini, he's a recording engineer and has recorded alot of great albums. Man, he has worked with some GREAT musicians. the pixies, the jesus lizard, nirvana, grandfather, man he's a hell of a guy imo. I have a lot of respect for that guy imo.
Grandfather's album, Why I'd Try, recorded and mixed by Steve Albini can be downloaded for free here http://grandfathermusic.com/
thats why Lirv and i go at it lol we are both pretty opinionated.. I am ten years his senior tho..
he once thanked God that he grew up in the 90s lol Saying how he would have been destroyed if he had grown up in the 80s(my decade see ten years his senior) 'cause the music was so bad lol
I think he tries too hard to be different, shunning anything mainstream, and in so doing, he actually is following a popular trend of being super antiestablishment/non-conformist.
watever floats his boat.. Smoosh and Hanson type bands for a 30 somethin "musician"
Hey Schlitz, I have mad respect for some music from the 80s also. Talking Heads are one of my alltime favorite bands. And they are just one of many bands from that time period that I listen to still
Lirva, I listen to music all the time. New and old and everything between. I just still like bands like Smashing Pumkins, Nirvana, Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam, Sonic Youth, Ween, Weezer, RATM, NIN, ect... stuff I listened to in high school
But mostly I listen to bands like the Grateful Dead and Phish
There is so much good music out there though in all different types imo
Let's just put the Smoush thing to rest. I'll get it over with and just say it (since no one else wants to). Lirv, you are infatuated with the singer, amirite? Is she at least 18, bro? Maybe when she gets her braces off, you two can go out for some taffy.
You kill me with your smelly fingers
Your smelly fingers from the sex you had on Christmas day
And now you say you're feeling guilty
You're feeling guilty 'cos your God was shining on your face
You go to Church and light a candle
And there you're blinded by the lights from all the golden pews
The Devil's snapping at your toes now
Because the Angels can't be bothered to live up to you
They're Selling Jesus Again
They're Selling Jesus Again
They want your soul and your money, your blood and your votes
When I saw them in Austin last March I gave her a copy of Mike Oldfield's Tubular Bells. That's a very significant album for me, and was very influential in me loving music and becoming a musician. When I was a kid my dad played it for me and I completely fell in love with it and listened to it all the time.
Mike Oldfield was kind of a pioneer of multi track recording. It's such a sick ****ing album.
