Bump. Ok, I have a question for some geetar DIYers. Gonso, I'm looking at you.

I'm starting to have an issue with my strat. After I'm heavy on the tremolo for a while, the high E saddle screws will work themselves out, and it's lowering the saddle to where it's fretting out. I loosen the high E to be able to screw in the screws to raise it, play for a while and be heavy on the trem, and it works itself back down.

What's my play?

I live in a 4th floor condo and just wall mounted my tv.

I currently have a tv power cord, hdmi cable, digital optical cord, and wii wires running down the wall to the entertainment console. I want to hide these wires behind the drywall.

Is there any fire concern to simply running these wires behind the drywall? I've heard stuff about fire-rated cables but is that really necessary?

Yeah there is a fire risk, you don't want long cables all gathered together, the coiling can lead to heat and then fire, happened recently in the studio to a friend of mine.

My advice would be to use cables that are the right length, without excess coiled together, have the cables at different heights too, not all just together on the floor behind the dry wall.

Nice that you are thinking of keeping everything tidy though

Define "permanent".

You could easily just lay down a few flagstones. You don't need slag sand or drainage. Dig out about an inch of the ground and lay in the flagstones. Use some of the soil you dug out to fill the gaps. And you're set.
