I like to watch YT food reviews, God help me. I have 4 or 5 I really love, but I'm gonna go slow introducing them because my old computer chokes on too many embeds at once.

My favorite is this guy, Watch Me Eat. I love his dry sense of humor. And he effectively uses the food itself as a prop, much as George C Scott used to use cigarettes as props. This was around Christmas when he had to be working at the mall selling suits while he ate.

Next up is Running on Empty, a bizarro weirdo who is either 16 or 36 and dresses/acts like Clifton Webb. He plays it straight but it's so weird you figure it has to be a joke. But who knows. He rarely ever dislikes anything except in the mildest terms. Here he reviews KFC popcorn chicken and hot wings.

I've seen some of Matt Stonie's. Also Furious Pete's. I think they both are charismatic, but Pete seems able to eat more as of right more.

I'm not sure if this fits exactly with what you're talking about, but here's a brief YouTube show about making cocktail sauce. NSFW language.

Haha. Food Wishes featuring Chef John is my favorite for how-to food videos. Oh, also Cooking with Hilah. She's this awesome blonde chick from Austin who keeps it real.

My next choice is 2 Minute Reviews, basically 2 20-something guys trying out fast food. I like that they keep it short. A lot of the youtube fast food reviews are gassy and boring and made by old fat guys and are way way too long. Cameron and Clint keep it moving. They have pretty good taste in fast food too.

This thread hasn't really exploded into the Lounge consciousness as I might have liked. I think I'll end with the lovely Hilah, this awesome chick from Austin. She's Hilahrious! She really is funny and can cook stuff, but she's not snobby about it. She's a comely lass as well. Here she makes green chicken enchiladas, my favorite Tex-Mex entree.

i liked Watch Me Eat At The Mall and Running On Empty. i watched a bunch of random WMEATMs and it sustained. ROE started to bum me out a lot. i felt bad for him and his mom or whoever is off camera that he keeps glaring at. it doesn't feel as fun, idk, i still like it though.

Running on Empty guy also does non-food videos that are a little scary, about serious topics. I'd steer clear of those. He doesn't make much sense tbh.

did you mean the depersonalization derealization? or the military industrial complex putting subliminal thought control messages into his videos?

your post here intrigued me as to how weird it could get so i looked through his videos and saw an hour long one and wow, yeah. he's got a lot to say, but also nothing to say. but i was still intrigued anyway.

after the super long one, which ended up being like a radio show where he spoke extemporaneously, mostly about the exact time and temperature, i started one of his food reviews and then after autoplaying for a bit i got into a good rhythm and watched for like 4 hours. i was playing videogames at the same time and i was really high but i was digging it.

watching some just now from his series "the idle mind", i guess he's just making videos of all the things he knows about. i agree that he's much stronger with a specific topic at hand: reviewing designated pieces of food he's eating. so i'd +1 your advice for the readership's consideration.

On a brighter note, Hilah from Austin is having a baby. It's a boy! Here she makes a delicious Greek pasta salad, cracks wise a little, and shows us around her new home.

I've plugged this in a few other threads, but it's actually relevant in this one.

I'm hooked on Munchies, Vice's YouTube food channel. Be warned, as it is Vice, there are a discernible number of beard toting hipsters, however they also have a ton of good shows and great food.

I've watched and enjoyed a few of those Vice ones. I remember that Action Bronson guy, he's quite a character. Tendency to ramble.

I just started watching this guy, Daym Drops. Evidently he's kinda a big deal on the Youtube. He sure has charisma to spare, I'll say that. I was entertained. He brings that "urban vibe" you know.
