Hello! I'm Blue, and I have it on good authority that jmitch doesn't even like music. He just played trumpet all those years cuz he thought it would make him a better kisser.

My musical talents are making up songs about how cold I am or what snacks I am making. I also shower sing, but not professionally.

Hi, I don't really play anything so I make music with my computer. I do enough with my midi keyboard to come up with ideas but that's about it. Having played drums briefly back when I was 12 definitely helps a bit with songwriting though.

Producer might be a better fit for me than musician in terms of titles but I still like this forum and have been lurking for a while.

What's up everyone? I used to be dispatch87 on here until I had to have my account banned, as I was one of the unlucky ones whos account got hacked. I wasn't gonna make a new account but figured I had to since this forum seems to be hopping now.

I'm um, Jordan as well. I've been contracted doing this for the army for a bit over 8 years now. I play trombone (actually contracted as such) piano, guitar and vocals (i do this mainly day to day)

I actually am returning from 6 months and change in Afghanistan right now and would be willing to answer any questions about what life in a military band is about. I've served in the states, in east asia, and west asia. Currently stationed at Ft Hood, TX... once I get home.

I was thinking about starting an ask me about deployment in Afghanistan in general but if anybody has any questions about the music wrt the actual job feel free to ask!

So is it like basically a marching band or what do you do day to day?

I was in the band in HS. Tenor Drums.

I did it just to rebel because everyone said girls can't play tenor drums. Broke up the boys club. It was fun.

I played flute my 6th grade year, trumpet my 7th grade year and snare 8th in middle school band then spent all summer working on tenor drills. Started playing guitar in 7th grade too. Wind instruments bore me no way I could play trombone every day like u.

Just noticed this forum, awesome! My 2p2 name indicates my primary instrument and preferred genre. (Though I also have played in 70's/early 80's hard rock/metal bands.) I also play a little blues harp.

Been playing in gigging bands for 20+ years. My current band plays a mix of blues, soul, roots rock, and alt-country-ish stuff. Anyone in the DC/NoVA/MD area can PM me for our website and schedule if you want to come check us out.

I own a number of basses (too many for my modest talent level), but my main axe these days is a Lakland US vintage P-bass strung with LaBella Jamerson flats.

I been playing guitar for 15 years. Play rock/metal on it. Also was forced to take piano lessons when I was a kid, but I dropped that when I got into high middle school. In college I took some classes to learn about the music business, one required us to record and mix a song in a studio. Interesting stuff. I wanted to go into the business as a sound engineer, but interned at a studio and saw how boring it was. Now I just play on my own and don't do recording or anything.

Russ Brown - primary songwriter/guitar player - been all over OOT a couple years ago for an album I did that placed pretty high in the Euro-Americana charts but did nothing in the states

www.reverbnation.com/russbrown
www.facebook.com/russbrownmusic

if you hear it you generally love it or hate it - that's the best one can hope for as a musician I guess

not playing much live right now but would like to write enough songs soon to record another album but if I'm not proud of them I won't record them or waste money and reputation putting out an album of crap songs, cause I only have to do it if I love it

when I was in my 20's I did the usual verse on 1, chorus on 11 overamped phuzz pedal crap - now lately I've just been keeping it more acoustic

What is up 2p2 musicians mandem.

Been playing guitar since I was 16, my mate bought one and I thought I had better learn too or else he would get all the hot chicks and I would be stuck with the fatties.

Took a diploma at the Guitar Institute during my gap year when I was 18, practiced literally all day every day and loved every minute of it.

Don't play much these days really, though it does make me happy so I should probably do it more often. Mainly just noodle around over blues tracks when I do.

I also have a ukelele but can only play one song on it.

Hey everyone,

I just stumbled onto this I had no idea it existed. Just starting to learn guitar. Bought a cheapo guitar/amp combo. Bought Rocksmith and got addicted, but I think I've really only learned how to play the game and mechanically do things but not really learn how to play the guitar. So, I started taking lessons. The combination of the two is really helping. I learn stuff in the lessons and go back to the game and it "clicks" better.

BTW, saw the "am I too old" thread. I'm 54. I feel like I can do this.

I'll probably spam up the beginners guitar thread. Hopefully I won't ask too many questions.

Hey everyone, I'm Lloyd
Started playing Guitar last year, played for like 6 months, then casually after that, getting back into it again and loving it ATM.

Mostly playing rock/metal. My mate (who has been play for ~6 years and is teaching me) have an agreement that we will playing live in-front of people by 2014. I got my one mate to start learning drums (but has stopped) and another one to start learning bass (moved to the US), so the band has been broken up for now. (we're all 21/22). I regret not starting guitar when I was younger, but can't do much about that now.

I'm thinking of starting up another instrument for fun (drums/keyboard), while mainly focusing on guitar.

Don't do this. All you'll be doing is taking time away from your primary instrument at a time you need to be working on it most. Wait a few years. Just work on the guitfiddle for now.

Hi, I'm Dj Graycat. I make mashups.

http://soundcloud.com/dragonystic
http://graycat.bandcamp.com/album/the-pretty-album

Been DJing for 8 years, started on vinyl, and now use cd decks. Also played guitar for about 5 years. Got okay at it, but eventually got to the point where I couldn't find time to practice and my skills deteriorated.

Spoiler:
Played clarinet in 8th grade.

Vocal performance major

I've been in tons of performances, chamber ensembles, choirs, operas, blah blah blah

I despise most popular music so despite my abilities I'm not the best person to converse with in all likelihood.

I got introduced to this forum by some people in puzzles and other games who figured my musical extremist views would go over better here, but I doubt it.

Thats me in my avatar singing and playing piano. I play guitar, bass, drums, piano (to an extent), and I've learned the rudiments of just about every instrument in an orchestra because of methods classes and whatnot.
