Itt, we say hello and what we play, both instrument and music wise. If you don't play an instrument, then say what you are wanting to learn

Hello!
I play classical piano, mostly from the Romantic Era, (mostly Debussy and Ravel, with a lil of Mendelssohn, Chopin and Mahler thrown in for good measure). I have about 5 students at the moment who I teach part time, which is fun.
I also flail around on the organ from time to time when I'm needed, mostly Christmas time and the occasional wedding. Plus, a vague attempt every now and then to play Jazz piano, though my chord work is probably the biggest section I need to improve on.
I'm a 20-year-old Finn. I've played classical piano since I was 10, and learning some basics of accompaniment, etc on the side. Last summer I got some lessons on composing from a professional Finnish composer, and since last fall, I've been studying in a pop/jazz conseratory. I've got well over 100 piano videos on YouTube, with over 1 million views.
James. played trumpet from age 5 on through 20's. majored in music education and taught for a few years. could piddle around most of the band instruments and some piano. don't remember much of that now. wanted to learn guitar (hey i remembered the 'i' this time), but have picked it up and put it down several times now. working on it again and hoping not to give up again. love getting back in to music and the information this forum could bring.
I play drums primarily. I also play keys and am working on learning guitar. I have a Bachelor of Music and live within 30 miles of Hitsville USA (Motown) I have played drums in rock bands but would much prefer to get into a solid funk band! I developed some jazz chops in school and would very much like to expand on my playing in the genre (best drummers to grace a kit imo). I am also a big fan of latin grooves. I am currently making my living as an audio engineer and don't own nearly enough gear! No matter how much I get, that will always be the case.
Pleasure to make your acquaintances.

Reason: Hello!
**** nevermind... I just recently picked up my guitar again after about 5-10 years. Really stoked that this sub forum is here now and am hoping to learn as much as I can from everyone here. I'll contribute what I can but I dont know much
AA=Musician's Sub-Forum pretty much anyway so you're in the right place!
I am a solo Vocalist/Guitarist.
I have been playing professionally (in the sense that it is my only source of income) for around 8-9 years.
Prior to that I completed a Bachelor of Arts Degree majoring in Creative Writing + Popular Music, Media and Culture. That's sitting in my bottom draw somewhere collecting dust, but whatever!
Before that I worked a souless job in the government and one day I decided I'd really like to do something interesting with my life. I quit and took a year off to teach myself how to sing/play guitar.
Lately I have become jaded with the solo performing and have formed a duo.
That is the way I want to progress now ie. playing with other musos (hopefully ones that are infinitely more talented than me so they can make me look good!)

Yeah, I've got a thread in The Lounge. Glad to get a positive reception. My videos used to get a lot more views than they do anymore. I guess piano covers aren't as popular on YouTube as they were, plus, if someone new checks out some of my videos, he's not going to watch them all, but pick some that's on a song he likes, and has a lot of views. So nowadays I rarely get over 1k views, but I have multiple covers with over 15k views.
I also play a little guitar, selftaught. Actually recently posted an audio link to a song where I'm playing guitar and singing (If I Had A Gun by Noel Gallagher) in the thread, hoping for some feedback. Haven't had the courage to put my singing up anywhere, or sing in public prior, so I'd really appreciate it if somebody gave me something on it.

just listened to it. I really like your tone of voice.
I know nothing about guitar but it sounded alright to me
Bass player in assorted bands, also play guitar but this was like 25+ years ago, and rarely pick up either, but you never forget.
Band names:
Slip One In - some r & b (oldschool r & b like Wilson Pickett), Blues Brothers covers, The Jam, Booker T and the MGs, our own songs etc
The Crusty Nuns - Punk band which I didn't like much, had to do it so we could get their drummer to play for us
Sinister Fairground - similar to Slip One In with different lead singer, and I thought the name was pretentious and stupid, to be honest
However, got a ukulele for Christmas, and practising often. My own son taught me 'The Passenger' tonight on the uke, as he learned it on guitar last week
