Re: Feedback Thread - Guitar

Guitar work was excellent with the one small note being that I think you may have overused the open chords in the breakdown.

Sound wise, I'd tweak your amp a bit IIWY, I'd like to hear more mids and a fatter sound.

It sounded kind of "tinny".

Excellent work overall and I'm glad to see more people contributing!

Re: Feedback Thread - Guitar

Someone needs to lower the bar. And derail obvious dating threads

Low quality sound/vid I'm a rec beginner player and it's a 1 dollar mic. Would like feedback on obvious "leaks" from more experienced players, I've been told I fret too hard etc. Cheers!

edit: well that didn't work

edit2: maybe now

I wasn't really offended. I was just playing for laughs.

As a matter of fact I take the opposite stance. I say **** any mod who takes that post down because some nit finds it racist/homophobic/excessively violent or anything else.

It's art. In her case it's a very creative interpretation of an art typically representative of a lifestyle RTR seems (may not be, IDK) far removed from.

Yet her interpretation is done in a manner that is both uniquely hers and respectful to the original creator, which I believe are both very important traits when we are covering the work of others.

Dude I'm no musician. I play guitar but never will I claim to be a musician. I certainly can't sing either. Nor do I want to.

I do however have some studio experience engineering and, to a lesser degree, producing a band. Hence lurking around these parts.

I will lay off the feedback though unless I have something positive to say. You have my word.

Re: Feedback Thread - Guitar

diego,

great job, tone sounds great, not a single bad note. i can only offer two pieces of criticism

1) your right arm posture is concerning. it's especially concerning to me because the speed at which your playing suggests you've been playing guitar for a while so i have a feeling that posture is burned into your soul.

but basically the body of the guitar is resting against your right forearm/your right forearm is resting on the body of the guitar - this shouldn't be the case, you hand should be moving at the elbow joint, so the body of the guitar should be pressing basically into your markedly well toned biceps.

2) this is only based on a half second sample but your vibrato sounds like the effect from my flange pedal - circa 4:23 in your video. to me it looks like you arms are both very tensed and you're achieving that vibrato by making your left arm tense up to the point where it shakes (that's how i fap btw)

instead try this method:

with your pointer finger, fret anywhere and then make vibrato by rotating your wrist clockwise which causes your pointer finger to slightly bend the string down, rotate wrist back to cause your pointer finger to put the string back into place. doing this quickly makes a sweet "singing" vibrato.

here's a video of me using this method with the pointer finger in a number of spots:

Re: Feedback Thread - Guitar

GT;

Wow cool. I'm not quite sure you were commenting to me but either way vibrato technique is something I haven't nailed yet. I'm currently practicing "Knights of Cydonia" by the band Muse and it has quite a lot of vibrato. It's really fun to play the intro, I think it's called tremolo picking - quite fast altpicking. Fortunately single atm so plenty of fapping practice really comes in handy.

Cool solo, really like the flow. Hope to be able to do that stuff some time
