A Customs are nice imo...That is what I have on my kit

You can get cymbal packs for higher end Zildjians also.

IF at all possible, try to find some nice used cymbals. People are always trying to sell their stuff and having a cymbal that is used doesnt matter. It should still sound good.

Wow it's Keith Moon on crack (which I believe he was most of the time anyway)

It's seems like a highly apropriate track to go full ******o on though.

OMG I can't believe you just posted that video. That was a running joke at work for quite a while a couple months ago. So hilarious!

Seems like a fake version of This Drummer is at the Wrong Gig, featuring a drummer who isn't nearly as good:

I hadn't finished the video when I posted this. The My Way drummer sucks. He can't even make a clean drum roll that's in time.

I finally started plugging my Ipod in through the AUX port on my electronic kit. God damn is it fun playing along with songs.

I was playing along to Beach Boys tonight and I noticed it sounded similar/in time. Since I'm new to drumming this was pleasing to my ear and was a milestone of sorts. Makes me wonder if there are some intricacies in their songs that I'm missing but they all seem pretty easy.

I'm having difficulty on a few songs picking out drum parts. Standard until ear develops more?

Yes. As you continue to drum and listen for the drums in the music, they will suddenly start to pop out clear as day.

The kids Gretsch Catalina Maples Christmas present should be showing up today.

I got him the 6 piece euro shell kit/amber finish with Gibraltar hardware, throne, and the Sabian B8 cymbal pack.

What is the possibility that I will be able to set this up correctly? I've tuned some hand drums before, but never a kit. I've watched a few youtube videos on it, and I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.

Another question - When doing routine tuning do you normally have to tune both heads or will just the batter go out regularly?

Thanks

Jon Theodore is a drummer i've recently got into, especially his work with The Mars Volta. Check out Tetragrammaton and Cicatriz.

Here is a little snare lick I wrote, and had fun with the video production.

Oh point of pic was that a high school here was dumping them and I picked em up for $200. Have to fix the tuner gauge on the new one though. Neighbors are going to hate when I drink even more.

Steal for $200.

You will prob spend more than that on heads the next time you replace them.

Yeah I know I could sell them for a lot more if I sat on them and waited it out. Makes me want to start scavenging craigslist more.

I almost got a 17' fishing boat with a 50 hp motor the other day for $500 but it was gone by the time I called. I'm still kinda pissed about that.

I'm looking for a cheap marimba or vibe still.

Long time no see, studio peeps

efficacy, that's a real cool idea with the quasi-mashup, I like it a lot. Also really good production value. You mind if I share it with a few friends? One friend of mine is a drummer that does tons of video work with DCI and WGI lines (adamlikestofilm on youtube, check out his lot vids def). Other guy is a snare dude for Blast and I think he'd definitely dig it.

For those timpani, $200 is an absolute steal. Craigslist, really? Is that a 29", 26" and 23"?

I bought some used steel pans (a lead and a set of double seconds) out of public school surplus a number of years ago (~2005). Had to spend good money to get them tuned, but the drums themselves were sold to me for $100 for the set, which obv made my day.

When you say "cheap marimba/vibe," can you expand a bit? Might be able to help put you in touch with someone if you're serious.

Absolutely! I checked out Adam's lot videos and they look and sound really nice. Subscribed.

Yes 29 26 23 inch timpani.

I'm pretty much looking for the same kind of steals or close to the steal I got with the timpani for the marimba/vibe. I don't like the older marimbas that much and the resale value of the nicer ones doesn't drop much. I would prolly buy an old Musser if the price was right though. For a vibe, I just want something that works and isn't a lot of money. I even thought of buying a scrapped one on ebay and making a project out of them.

I used to see one vibe every few months when I worked at a thrift store picking up donations in the 90s. We usually tossed them too iirc.
