Yeah, I think Matthew Sweet is pretty great. His Girlfriend album is excellent, every song is epic. I've always liked that power pop sound.
He's had some great songs since but hasn't really been up there, and you get the sense it's something personal. He's gained a lot of weight etc. I see he's making music with the Bangles girl sometimes.
Matthew Sweet, I salute you for your clever lyrics and your delicious melodic hooks. I look forward to any new music you might make.
This gem was on the soundtrack of The Craft, a chickflick about young comely teenage girl witches. I think that's a theremin squealing in the background. Neve Campbell so hot.
