90s Appreciation Thread

In memorial of music's best decade, I've been jamming with my sister (no pics on this cpu sry) a bit lately and we've decided to start a 90s cover band called High three-legged bugs. The story behind the band name goes back to a time 2 weeks ago when we were chilling and saw a crazy looking bug. It resembled an ant with wings, and was albino with black spots. We decided to keep him around for a while and scooped him up in an empty water bottle. Then, after realizing the gifts the bug had given us, we decided to smoke him down and roll the bottle down the driveway to give him the trip of a lifetime. Unfortunately tragedy took hold and the bug broke one of his legs in his journey through the cosmos.

So far our set-list* looks something like this:

1. Anyone can play guitar -radiohead
2. She's got issues - the offspring
3. The way - fastball
4. In Bloom - Nirvana
5. Perfect - Smashing pumpkins
6. some sort of ballad and covers of random chicks. thinking something like You oughta know (alanis), Every day is a winding road (sheryl crow), bitch (meredith brooks)
7. Mrs. Robinson - Pennywise
8. Wave of mutilation - pixies
9. el scorcho - weezer
10. You get what you give - the new radicals
11. flavor of the week - american hi-fi
12. old apartment - barenaked ladies
13. lovefool - the cardigans
14. redundant - green day
15. clumsy - our lady peace
16. Longview - Green Day
17. sweetness - jimmy eat world
18. Steller - incubus
19. Santa Monica - Everclear
20. Learn to fly - The foo Fighters

* - subject to change

Most of those songs were put together with great haste and the scowling intimidating look of a severely injured insect.

I need some more suggestions that fill that alt/pop rock feel we're going for.

Also, here's some pictures that embody the 90s:

JFC I remember that hanson stuff. I kept telling my brother at the time that they were all guys. He insisted, and we never really settled this, that it was 1 guy and 2 girls, for sure. I could never convince him. This was before the internet and whatever. Now in retrospect and seeing this thread, I think he might have been right.

Wasn't Hanson a mid/late-90's thing?

Re: 90s Appreciation Thread

^ Pretty sure I was 11-13 range so it's like 95-97, you're right I guess but in my country, at least, it wasn't common yet. Some of my friends had 28-56k dial up but I think even altavista, which was the nuts search engine back in the day, wouldn't even know if they were girls or guys. And rightfully so!!
We just listen to Green Day, Nirvana, Offspring thru the whole 90s so I like this thread (and fml who ever gave me a ricky martin cd for xmas)

If you liked Oasis, I could easily post a bunch of stuff in that genre that was far more worthy than them (1989-1994).

Oh man no Alice in Chains? I would also suggest some Seven Mary Three, but if you can't sing like the guy from 7M3 then never mind.

You should play Powertrip by Monster Magnet and Dragula by Rob Zombie!
