WSOP Satellites for Draw/mixed events? WSOP Satellites for Draw/mixed events?

I'm heading to Vegas for the first time and I'm looking to play 1 or 2 WSOP events (as well as the collossus), currently looking at the $2500 mixed draw, $1500 DC and the $1500 2-7 NLSD. I was wondering if anybody knew if they usually have any satellites going on for these sort of events? I can't find anything online, only satellites for the main event and the collossus.

They have tons of satellites. They have a daily $185 satellite at 9am which gives out a $1500 seat and $100 cash. I'm hoping to play the 06/06 9am one and get a seat into the $1500 S/D 2-7 later that day @ 3pm.

Lovely, thanks for your quick reply! I'll be doing the same thing most likely. Are these satellites just NLH ones or do they have specific ones for specific events?

Almost all single table satellites are NLHE. I've played a single-table satellite that was HORSE the day before a $1500 HORSE, but I think the chances of finding a triple draw or NL 2-7 lowball single table satellite the day before the $1500 or $2500 event is close to zero.

The nightly mega-satellite at 8 PM will be a non-NLHE game if the next day's $5K or $10K event is non-NLHE. I'm 99% sure the morning 9 AM mega is always NLHE.

Yes I failed to say that. We're lucky enough that they're running mixed events at a lower buy-in; never-mind a satty.

This isn't true. They often run sngs the day before an event in the game of that event.

Good to know! How well advertised are they?

They're not. Ask at the sign-up podium

They run 1k megas (w re-entries) at 8pm the night before any 10k non-NLHE event in that discipline.

This year that schedule would include (all at 8pm):

6/3 - FLO8
6/7 - dealers' choice
6/10 - NL sd
6/12 - razz
6/14 - horse
6/16 - 2-7 td
6/18 - FLHE
6/23 - stud 8
6/25 - PLO8
7/6 - stud

But I don't think they all get off the ground. Running a dealers' choice mega satellite doesn't sound easy. They also have like 2750 and 5k megas for the 50k but I'm not sure how they do that schedule. If they have the dealers, players, and tables, they would likely start a satellite on-demand. But that's quite the parlay to pull off. You can always just play NLHE satellites and use the won lammers to enter the mix/draw tourneys.

Most, if not all, of these go every year. The megas to the PPC run the couple of days before the PPC (this is the usual, not sure specifically about this year). The "on-demand" satellites are not a long parlay. The sngs run very frequently every year, particularly smaller ones for like the 1500s

Not close to zero. They run single table sats for whatever the following day's mixed event is. E.g. $250 NL SD 2-7 STSs the day before the $1500 NL SD 2-7.
Some run more frequently than others though. It depends on the game type. Like last year I played 2 of those NL SDs back to back, in about 1-2 hours. But generally they can be pretty difficult to try and start. I know there were a couple days where zero of a certain satellite ran.
Sometimes your best bet is to just go round up people that you think are interested, at the same time (e.g. someone put their name on the list 2-3 hours ago then went to go play cash).

I haven't had luck in games besides HORSE in the past finding a STT, but I guess I wasn't patient enough or lucky enough. I'm glad to be wrong about this.

I did a Dealer's Choice SnG satellite last year. It did take a while. Maybe 90 minutes to fill up.

Reviving this thread to post this resource for the future:

Players in non-NLHE $1k WSOP sats to the $10k events in 2018:
O8: 103
Dealer's Choice: 53
NL 2-7 SD: 33
HORSE: 79
Stud: 47
PLO: 253
Limit Hold Em: 56
Razz: 87
PLO8: 226

Source: KevMath on Twitter

Cliffs:
Yes the sats run for all games. Surprisingly good turnouts in many of them. I wonder how many of the qualifiers a) weren't otherwise going to play the $10k and b) then do play the $10k (you get paid in lammers which are easily sold near face value)
