Setting starting hands for Pineapple Setting starting hands for Pineapple

Hi, I just started playing Pineapple, and frankly I have no idea how to set up the first five cards (which is probably easy compared to mid-game decisions).

Take K T 9 5 5

Do we play the pair or T9 in the back?

If we play T9 we can draw to a both flush and a straight, and go for two pair/trips in the middle for a shot at fantasy land. If the flush or straight doesn't work out, we have a shot at higher 2 pair/trips.

If we play the pair in the bottom, we obviously have a much better chance at getting a full house. But when we're drawing to a full house, playing in the middle gets awkward.

Let's say we get 77A on the next draw. We give ourself 2 pair in the back. Next draw is QJ4, no diamonds. I guess we could put the queen in the front and the jack in the middle, but I'd probably play QJ in the middle. Third draw is K43 when we hold K / QJT9 / 5577, and we'll have to complete the straight and pray for the 4-outer on the last draw, right?

What happens if we swap the king for a three:

4 T 9 5 5

How do we play this junk? 554 in the middle and T9 in the back?

10,9 diamond bottom, 5's in the middle and k on top. Second hand: as played unless you see too many diamonds and 10/9's out.
