Hi guys,

Does anyone in this sub-forum play cash games on Stars? I noticed that they are pretty much unplayable due to the fact that there are no antes at each stake.

Can we get some opinions before I submit a suggestion to the Cash Game rep/manager at Stars?

All opinions are welcome.

Thanks

I would agree with adding the option of having antes (ie. both).

I have been harassing them to get big bet triple draw at small and midstakes, too, but that fell into deaf ears

+1 to this. Both with having the option of antes and non, and also a better variety in stakes.

SD is a terrible game without an ante.

Some top players already said that they would just play Single Draw on PokerStars if they got antes. I think that Full Tilt Poker have ante's structure.

+1 I don't why there are no antes in cash, but HU sng's have antes from the start. Would be much more fun to play with antes.

get rid of 25c/50c

add 10c/20c/5c, 20c/40/10c, 30c/60c/15c

50c/1$ and above just add 1/4 BB ante to the games

+1. But never going to happen to have that many.

Don't need antes, just put a bet cap in.

Played live 75-150 SD w/$500 bet caps, lots of action, lots of fun, quite a bit of blood too.

does the above mean that it is a 3.33 bb cap game? or what does 500 bet cap mean? who is it more fun if betsizes are limited?

You can bet/raise up to $500 at any time. Blinds $75/$50, typically someone will open to $225 and either a couple calls or a repop to $725, and usually $500 gets fired ( and sometimes raised/reraised) post draw.

It's a good game because there is lots of action, no one is afraid of getting stacked so they call/reraise liberaliy.

This sounds horrible. I am sure there is lot of action, but to me the best part of NLSD is that I can bet big anytime I want and have to make big decisions when someone 3x pots it post draw.

Just to let you guys know, I had lunch with a Stars rep 3 days ago, and said to him about this thread and everything in it (and more), and he said he'd link this thread to his supervisor etc. So something might possibly be done, he said he'd let me know.
Though he did say that it would be unlikely to have both ante and non-ante games throughout the stakes, because then games might be splintered and have just something like 4 players at each table (thought I prefer short-handed), rather than full tables.

I play a fair bit of 5cd on stars and it would be great to see antes.

Couple of weeks ago I sent this thread link to ps support, they said they have forwarded my email to poker room management, lets hope they bring antes to the tables.

This is the response I got a few days ago from the Stars' guy who took me to lunch:

Hi. I hope you are enjoying las vegas. management liked your ideas but there are currently too many projects in production for them to be considered before next year. feel free to contact me if you need anything. thank you.

Ridiculous. It'd take several clicks of a mouse to add antes to every cash game. Every "Team Pro" they'd speak to would back the idea, no one could make a legit case against it and more importantly for them, they'd rake more.

Been thinking for a while about requesting a "Draw Week" promotion or similar, that's the sort of thing they could tank 6 months over, not making a long overdue correction.

I asked for this more or less perpetually from 2007-11. You see how much progress they made.

If it helps, when I met him, the guy said that you would be surprised how much work it takes to change or add even the smallest thing to the software/games.

If that's true then they were very quick to reduce a tournament prizepool twice in a week. I usually play only 2-7SD tournaments and I noticed they changed 5.50 turbo 2x chance prizepool twice in a week, first reducing from $250 to $200 and after a week again reducing to $150. I don't understand what projects have to do with just adding antes to the table.

If a lot of us send them an e-mail requesting it every day or every two days, who knows. And we can ask for badeucy as well while we're at it. And if you want to.
