There is one right near the poker oom that has flat screen TVs with sports on it so we watched the Heat win and I had amazing fish tacos for free.

Don't get caught in all of the tourist crap. Go see the major 4 or 5 casinos play at the Aria or Bellagio or Rio cash games they are so juicy right now.

Ran 300 into 950 at the Rio tonight then heading home for the night to get ready for tomorrows satty and cash games again.

I see people buying drinks and food it's so crazy you are there to play poker and if you just sit at the table they will bring you drinks for a 1$ tip.

We go to southpoint casino for the late night menu it's 2.95$ for an 8 ounce steak with hashbrowns eggs and toast.1.95$ for a burger with fries.

We also went to Brio italian restuarant at happy hour and had beef carpacio Bruschetta, a burger, margheritta flatbread pizza, brio burger and a beer for 17$.

The most expensive meal so far was Outback Steakhouse 11$ for some Ahi Tuna.
Thanks for the tips man!, I guess I will be playing mostly that 1/3 game at Aria and maybe some 2/5, I tought food was expensive but Im gonna try to go to some of the places you told me, Im staying at Excalibur from 11/6 to 21/6, I hope we can meet some day during that time, Im going with
elchino_007 from ps and 2 other nonpoker friends! GL!

The comps are great, the floor was super helpful: when I asked her to try to start the 12/24 mix, she started calling the list before I could even walk away (it wound up not going). The room is in a great location right by the main entrance and I turned $300 into $3k playing 1-3 and 2-5 PLO. The only negative was the dealers: they were definitely a notch below the Bellagio.

At the Rio I mostly played 1-2 PLO and mix games. Them allowing a Mississippi straddle is terrible, it gives way too much of an advantage to the button. The free WiFi in the convention area was nice though.
In general I love the Aria and Wynn floors for getting mixed games started (Aria's more likely to have the player pool at lower limits, I prefer the Wynn as a room), hate the Rio dealers for being generally incompetent, and had an awful experience with the Venetian floor, who tried to force us to add a game to the mix "because that's how we run our mixed games" after the players who started the game had already agreed on the mix - we broke the game instead of playing whatever he was trying to force on us. Bellagio is about middle of the pack for floor and dealers.

Re: Other Poker Regs/BBV thread

My TR (if anyone cares):
Thursday:
Arrived in town that night with my 2 coworkers/gambling partners. Good sushi dinner (lots of great fine dining over the weekend. Most of it worth it). Fun at roulette/craps, but lose. I'm not normally a pit degen, but I will if I'm in Vegas or maybe 1-2 times a year at my local casino. I think I was essentially even on the weekend in pit games.

Friday:
Go to the Venetian to play their supposed $150 tourney, but its been substituted for something like a $400 for the next month or so. Friends and I decide to pass. Head over to Aria. Play the $200 tourney. 40 entrants. I end up chopping it 3 ways for $2200. We were 3 BB's from each other when it got down to 3 handed and that locked up more than 2nd place money. Would've been interesting to play it out, but whatever. Awesome steak dinner and some more random gambling. Friends try to convince me to go play the $1500 NLSD event, but I'm likely dead money in that event and the experience isn't worth $1500 to me.

Saturday:
Go play some 10-20 LHE at the Bellagio. I was clearly running hot but some of these players are worse than the 4-8 players in my local casino. Win $800. Head over to Ceasar's for their 4pm Omaha tourney ($100 + 20). 3 of the players at my opening table had to ask the rules. Really soft table, but am mostly card dead. Get knocked out pretty early. Head downtown for the rest of night. Have great run at blackjack. First time I've been downtown, and its quite fun.

Sunday:
1-2-5 PLO at the Venetian. Get up $450 at my peak, but end up only cashing out $180. Table was pretty damn solid except for one old man who was donating to everyone. Have nice meal at the Bellagio.

Monday: Fly home and back to the grind.

Its only my 2nd Vegas trip. Last was 5 years ago. I'm definitely not waiting that long to go again. One of my best vacations ever.

I like downtown. All the women I've ever taken with me to Las Vegas have turned up their noses when visiting downtown is mentioned, but I think it's an interesting place. I like that free light show at night on the overhead on Fremont street. It's different every time I see it. Alas, I usually miss it because I'm usually playing poker somewhere when it's running. But when I'm there and it's running, it's great. And fun to watch the (other) tourists.

Still, +$180 is nice. Congratulations.

Sounds like you had a nice, very successful trip.

I think Los Angeles has better poker the year around, but I still love Las Vegas. Just something about being there, in on the action if I want to be. Although I don't play them, I like the jangle of the slots as I walk through the casino. (But I hate the damned cigarette smoke). I like waking up in the middle of the night, going down to the poker room, and finding some action.

Thanks for the interesting report.

Iron you prob got some of the new dealers aria had to hire to handle the upswing of traffic cuz of BF and wsop starting. Their core dealers are 10fold what bellagio is, hope you or sheebz takes a shot in the 10k it'd be a smart decision I might have to miss it and will be very sad and will make sure I ft the limit if its the case

Thanks Sheebz! It was good to meet you. What a sick table draw we had! I knew very quickly that you were an excellent player. Anyway, good luck in the 10k. I hope you bring home that bracelet!!

My previous trips were frequently in December when break in dealers get laughed at instead of hired. I hadn't been out since the Aria opened.

My starting table of the 10k 27SD was terrible: Sheebz, Seb83, Alex L, Michael Binger and Chufty. Seb asked Sheebz what he plays and if we might know his online handle and he said prob not and that he mostly just plays tourneys. Shaun Deeb outed him for us though

FROM WSOP.COM

Quote:
Rheem's Sick Pull

The action began with Peter Gould raising to 8,200 from the cutoff. Chino Rheem three-bet to 25,000 from the small blind and Gould replied by four-betting all in for around 45,000. Rheem made the call.

Rheem drew three cards and Gould took only one. Gould flipped over J7642. Rheem turned over the 52 for the two cards that he kept, then proceeded to flip his drawn cards one at a time.

First Rheem turned over a J , followed by a 7. The only way that Rheem could eliminate Gould at this point would be to flip over a three or a four for his last card, as they both shared the jack-seven low. Unfortunately for Gould, Rheem peeked at his card and then slammed it on the table, showing the 3 and sending Gould to the rail.

Chino Rheem is now sitting with around 195,000 in chips.
Uhm what? He was either patting KQJ or he had 55522 ooooor? Hmmm, is this the stars freeroll or a 10k event?
