This will be like the regs threads in the NL forums where we bitch about beats, chat about what's going on in the Other Poker tab and other stuff in draw and mixed games.

For my first contribution, my soul got read pretty good here:

To be fair, I think he's like 3% to win here vs. my J. So, uh, implied odds or something? He did get my last $2.
This dude always buys in for 5BB and leaves when he gets up to 10BB (you probably know him if you play .50/1-3/6). I haven't seen him recently.

Q: what 8-game game do people play the worst? My nomination is O8. Lots of limping with middle cards.

Even though they are all bad at PLO (it being a much more complex game) a lot tend to nit it up and nut peddle, so they aren't that spewtastic. They're pretty bad at TD and the split pot games.

I know that I'm bad at plo but iron81 has 1 barrel monkey note and 3 bets out of position way too often among many other unfavorable things I've noticed. Iron , you are really bad a lot of games bc your hand reading is very poor. Also the guy has a tendency to report people to chat police which is such a b**** move. Doing this kinda crap makes me redouble my efforts to own you which I do when I come down to 2/4... thanks again for getting me muzzled a.hole. I'm up 1,500 on you. Cheers d***

I just want to lament my luck on a shot i took tonight in TD. I promised myself i would only risk 10BB then a second table was going too, i said 20BB then, ended up going off for 50BB cuz I am an idiot and thought the dude playing me HU was an idiot but he seemed to play well in retrospect even though he was playing strangely and uber loosely.

Take consolation in the fact you're not the only one who went off for 50BB tonight. Got rivered in what felt like 10 (but was probably only 3 or 4) huge multiway pots where I had at least one guy dead (as he was patting worse) and the 1cd kept getting there. And my value bets kept turning into crying bet/calls

Just played 200 hands, had 60BB SWING, but ended the session up 1.5BB. I know that's probably relatively standard at high stakes but down at .10/.20 I've never seen it.

Commitment FTW.

Was heaps of fun though, guy to my right was just raising 90%, 3-betting about the same, limp 3-betting tons, and capping every time he raised and someone (often me) 3-bet.

He just kept drawing 2-3, patting, then showing me 7s and good 8s, and like 7/10 times I would catch a slightly worse hand; definately tilted off a good 5-10BB though, calling down when I was pretty clearly beat (although the pots are so big...). Could have gone off for a lot more but calmed myself and stopped 3-betting to isolate so wide cause it doesn't work very well at low limits TD!

Here's a hand that sums it up nicely:

Anyone else find it much easier to play long sessions of 2-7 as opposed to NLHE?

Maybe it's because I can only single table (I lose track of the number of cards discarded and panic...), but it used to be w/ HE I'd be completely bored by 1-2 tables, had to play 4 to keep enough interest, but I can happily play 1 table of 2-7 all day.

Interested if anyone agrees/has some thoughts as to why that is...

Got it working, love the guys stats!

Over 219 hands the guy won $9.34, for 21.32 BB/100.
PDR 55.25%, VPIP 94.52%!
AF of 1.40, AFq 52.32%
W$WS1D 38.46%
WTSD 50%
W$@SD 50%

Was he just lucky this time, or can this be an effective, if swingy, style?

It's probably b/c TD is actually fun. NLHE is a seriously boring grind.

Who was the villain? I can think of one player I've seen do this before. There might be some merit to this play if there's a chance you'll fold to the c/r, but it seems pretty spewy to me.

yep agree with that. Don't know how people multitable TD, I've made so many mistakes the few times I've attempted it.

That said a 2 hour sesh can feel like a lifetime when you're losing
