OFC Pineapple w/ Badugi - Rules? Royalties? OFC Pineapple w/ Badugi - Rules? Royalties?

On the Remko Report podcast, Jason Mercier discussed a variant of OFC Pineapple played with the following rules:

- Deal proceeds according to standard OFC rules.
- Players need to make three different types of hands on each line, starting from front to back: 3-card badugi, 27 lowball, high.
- In order not to foul, the high hand must at least be a pair and the 27 hand must be a ten-high or lower.

Mercier didn't go into anymore detail.

Has anyone played this game? If so, what is the royalty structure? Also, is there a qualifier for the badugi? In other words, must it be lower than a certain rank or be lower than the 27 hand? (For instance, if the 27 is an 87, the badugi must be an 86 or lower). Does the ace play high or low for the badugi?

If no one knows how the game is being played, can we come up with a royalty structure and/or clarify the rule set? Here is a royalty structure for OFC Pineapple played w/ 27 in the middle:

How would royalties be paid on the badugi? Should there be a special condition for fantasy land (like the 15-card super fantasy described in the link above)?

I have experimented with the game played without royalties, requiring that the badugi be lower than the 27 hand, with the ace playing low for the badugi and high for the 27. Using that rule set, the game is really fun intellectually, but you foul a lot, and we haven't been playing for royalties. I'd like to develop a full set of rules as I think this could be a really fun game. It would also be a good way to teach 27 and badugi to noobs.
