Chinese poker hand help

Is this proper thread for this? If not can the mods direct me, thanks.

I'm dealt
457QK
4
7KA
TJKA

using 2-4 scoring (i'm just playing on an app).

I wasn't sure whether to pay the 77KKK and secure the bottom end aginst all 3 players(assuming no one has quads) and then play 5AA44 as my middle with the TJQ as my top

or

play K high flush at bottom since i have 5 spades and blockers to the other Ace flushes and play a 2 pr in middle and take a chance at winning 2 from everyone?

If you're going to go the flush route, wouldn't it be better to play AA in the middle and KK up top? That would be a better chance of winning 2 than 2-pair middle and kickers top.

Re: Chinese poker hand help

that's correct...i'm new and i thought your hand rankings had to go in decreasing order (if you play a pair in middle you cant play a pair at top) but now i know you can play a pair in middle and it has to be lesser pair at top

Re: Chinese poker hand help

Firstly think about your bottom hand, KKK77 doesnt make any sense when you have 44 in your hand as no one can ever have KKK also so our other pair is irrelevant.

I would go KKK44 (we nearly always win this bar opps having a bonus hand), AAQ105 in the middle ( Can win) and 77J on top

EV of full house play = 1.16
EV of flush play = 0.70

I like this set too, although I can't claim to have seen it until you posted, I blame not having the cards in my hands

Is doing the QT5 w/ AA and the J w/ 77 the standard? We put our highest junk card with the hand higher up the order, then second highest with the lower hand? I'm sure it's not that massively +EV but it looks good to me, and something I probably haven't been doing.

Always playing your smallest pair to complete a full house is the best lesson for you from the hand. That frequently comes up, is worth quite a bit, and you should never make the mistake again now. Same concept extends to a lot of bad hands that include multiple pairs though it's not 100% set in stone like it is with boats.

Pretty sure it depends on what the hands are. AA is probably more likely to be tied in the middle than 77 is in the front. If the pairs were different and you still split them it might be better to put the better kicker in front. Like if it were TT and 22 and you still split them I'd want the kicker with the deuces.

Re: Chinese poker hand help

another one that left me guessing:

A9872
102
108562
J

I ultimately went with (AJ8) (98765) (222TT) but not at all confident in my pick

I'd play

AA6
77734
KQTJ9

because this has scoop potential, while the other hand completely concedes the front without properly locking up the other two (although it is quite strong). I've seen plenty of flushes in the middle and better FHs+ at the back.

That last hand is tough, but I set it the same. 9-high straight is too weak for the back IME, and AJ can win the front.

I like your pick.
your A-J high might very well be good, and having a flush in the middle is good.
I would almost always use the boat if I had it... so.. yes. very good.

PS, I LOVE that Chinese poker app., it has actually help me improve my PLO and hold 'em game by making me more aware of the possibilities.
