This badaci hand is from a 5-handed $50/$100 home game.
BB is a strong, thinking player capable of anything. BTN is a VIP who is very loose passive. He never snows or bluffs and his raises always indicate very strong hands. He never draws after raising.
Hero is in the SB.
UTG and UTG+1 fold, BTN limps, hero raises with 654A with a 5-high 3-card badugi. Both BB and BTN call.
Hero draws 1, BB draws 2, BTN draws 3. Hero bricks and bets. BB calls, BTN raises and both other players call.
Hero and BB both draw 1 and BTN is pat. Hero bricks and checks. BB checks and BTN bets.
My draw seemed so good in the moment and there were already 7 big bets in the pot with BB likely calling as well, but in retrospect I'm only drawing to 2 outs that give me a likely scoop hand and a maximum of 8 (but more likely fewer due to card removal) cards that even give me 1/2. It's possible that BTN has a good badugi with a mediocre low, but even so it's hard for me to think anything worse than a rough 6 will get any portion of this pot. If I make a rough 7-5 and BB bricks I still think I'm losing vs most of BTN's lows. So in retrospect I think I favor a fold here.
But as played hero and BB both call and draw 1. I made a 3, which gave me a 3-card 4 badugi. I checked, BB checked, BTN bet, I called, BB raised and BTN 3-bet. I considered this spot for awhile before eventually calling. I think there are too many bets in the pot for me to fold a 6 given that they could both have good badugis and 7 or worse lows. BB capped, BTN called and I crying called one last bet.
