Part of a mix that includes: Badacey, Badeucey, Badugi, Stud 8, (25-25 pot limit with 3K cap) Big O, 2-7 Triple Draw. I'll go over the action first, then talk about history with table/villain.

Hero is dealt: A3456

Villain raises in EP/MP, hero 3-bets in cutoff, villain calls. Heads up.
First draw: Villain draws 2, hero pats???
Villain check/calls

Second draw: Villain draws 1, hero pats
Villain check/raises, hero calls

Third draw: Pat/pat
Villain bets, hero calls

So, some background: I played with this guy for 6 hours at a 5/5/10 PLO game, and I had a good, strong image there. He seemed solid, but I didn't really get a strong read on how he plays, although he seemed to lead a lot of flops in multiway pots there, and he seemed half-asleep all day. However, when they were starting this mixed game table (which he started with two others), I expressed hesitancy to play because I'm not super familiar with the games. The PLO game ended up sucking later on, so I decided to hop in this game (which turned out to be really good).

However, I've been extremely tight at this table so far. Not by design, I've just been getting total junk hands the entire time. And when I have gotten hands, they've been total monsters. So I probably look like a total nit who only plays the nuts. THAT SAID, I don't know how much this guy is actually paying attention. But we haven't really tangled together in a pot all day, so...

This is probably a really straightforward hand. I'm just curious if the correct play is to break the 6 and go for a badugi or deuce, or pat the whole way.

I am very curious about learning more of the math in these kind of spots since I haven't seen any tools for badeucy/badacey specifically

Hero's lo is more than a 90% favorite vs a23xx, by drawing 1 we go to a 75% favorite or so vs that kind of premium hand, against a rougher draw (say a337x) we retain a little more equity maxing out around 80%

With position and such a good hand for the lo all ready breaking seems like a mistake. That is because playing oop vs a pat hand is very difficult and villain is suceptible to large errors. For instance, he could draw 2, catch a2347 with the a27 3 card badugi and take his exact line drawing dead. Or he could break a bad badugi when that is the only part of the pot he is likely to win.

Assuming villain can soul read you for your exact hand (and lets assume hero blocks one badugi out) and keeps any badugi he will make a badugi about 53% of the time. In practice, the showdown will be lower.

So yes, your line is normal and agressive heros would raise the turn or river with some frequency. Hope you don't mind me making a mini-workshop of your hand.

I cannot play this any different... I'd almost argue that if you were to throw the 6d, then you might as well throw the 5d too. Throwing the 6d means you've surrendered a great low hand and are drawing for Badugi. May as well maximize the opportunity to get that Badugi.

But the low is really too good to break.
