This is one of the worst hands I open the button with HU. This particular villain 3-bets his stronger 2-card draws (so far 832 is the worst I've seen), and usually will not bet out unimproved in 2:3 spots. Do I have enough to continue here getting 7 to 1 or should I just chuck it?

God no. You could probably even fold to the threebet in a HUSnG, since you're going nowhere if you don't catch a deuce and he probably already has one. I don't generally like opening 74 against a player we don't know is too tight.

If I do call the threebet, when he draws two I'm drawing two.

you're at 20/40 and there are 2 players, so this must be a hu tourney, and you have just played a few hands.

you have 84 bbs. 832 is the worst you've seen from him, but in just a few hands. so conservatively figure maybe the worst he's drawing to is is a 9. it's a small bet, so call and draw 3. if you catch 2 wheels then you're drawing 1 card twice to an 87 so c/c, otherwise c/f.

the question then is what do you do if you make an 87 on the flop, what do you do on the turn. and if you c/c the turn and make an 87 what do you do on the river. i hate 87.

Folding to a 3-bet seems pretty pessimistic. I can still make a lot of draws that will hold up in a HU pot. But I agree that 74 is probably a little too loose to open, especially against a guy who will 3-bet any xx2.

Mr. Barbegris, I don't really understand your post. We're in position here, so there will be no check/folding. I'm interested in what you have to say though. Do you think you can rephrase it?
