3rd Draw, what's your play?

Given he's patted early I feel inclined to keep my T, but on the other hand he has shown strength and I have a decent chance of improving? Am I right to keep my T here or to pitch it?

Poker Stars $0.25/$0.50 Limit 2-7 Triple Draw Lowball - 6 players
DeucesCracked Poker Videos Hand History Converter

Pre Draw: (1.4 SB) Hero is BTN with T 9 4 3 2
UTG folds, MP raises, CO folds, Hero calls, SB folds, BB folds

First Draw: (5.4 SB) (2 players)
MP draws 1, Hero draws 2
Hand: Q 9 4 3 2
MP bets, Hero calls

Second Draw: (3.7 BB) (2 players)
MP stands pat, Hero draws 2
Hand: T 7 4 3 2
MP bets, Hero calls

Third Draw: (5.7 BB) (2 players)
MP stands pat, Hero?

Thanks

Do you have any reads on villain ? Is he quick to pat any old garbage ?

He would have to be really, as otherwise your T should be totally crushed here.

If you think a 10 can be good here, why didn't you draw 1 to the 9.

Re: 3rd Draw, what's your play?

You somehow got the idea in your head that an early pat signifies weakness, I would say this is completely backwards. This guys line is incredibly strong, 4 card hands from MP from reasonable players are strong starting hands, and a pat after first draw from a good player probably means an 8 or better since he would have smooth draws under any 9 he caught and often draw again.

Maybe you are confused because when people stand pat initially their ranges tend to be on the weaker side, with lots of unbreakable 9s and such? Regardless even against huge fish your Ten is worth nearly nothing here, the guy would have to literally be patting any queen or better for me to not draw, you have a perfect wheel draw, it would be criminal to waste it.

+1 to everything DD said. Drawing to a wheel vs a pat has some potentially very good things happen on the river.

+1 as well to dd. Like the man said your T is worthless. I don't think anybody would pay you 1/5 BB for your pat hand. If your draw was for sale I would gladly pay 1.6 BB for it.

Other posters have alluded to this, easy break. This isn't single draw; people that begin with 1 cd draws often will show up with 8s or 7s if they aren't very out of line.

My advice is to start answering questions now! You will probably get it wrong, but people will come in the thread and correct you, and then you'll know the right answer.

Unfortunately the DOP forum doesn't generate a whole lot of threads, which is kinda nice because you can read every one, but means there aren't as many opportunities for learning.

Another thing I'd like to add is that people here are nicer than in other parts of the forum. Or at least they seem nicer. So you're unlikely to get your head bitten off if you do get it wrong.

FWIW I'd break 97432 in that spot.

This is true. NL strategy forums definitely like to rip a few more heads off. Of all the strategy forums, we may be one the nicest actually. So I also agree with Gus, OP, you should try to think about other posts and try to answer them yourself! If people think youre "wrong", people are pretty good about explaining WHY and not biting your head off.

I also agree with the breaking 97432 sentiment, even if villain ends up patting worse (unlikely) you still have good equity vs. him.

Also OP, if you haven't read it yet, you should read Negreanu's chapter on TD in Super System 2. Even though some of the info on it is a bit outdated and contested by some in this forum (routinely 3-betting 2-card draws pre in position for example), it's still the most comprehensive summary of the game in print.

And of course, dig through these forums for old threads!
