Hand -

Baduecy - $20/40 @ Rio

You raise with 8,7,2,3,4 and 7 badugi. Men the master makes it 3 bets from the small blind, and you make it 4 bets. He draws 2, do you pat or break and draw 1 smoooooth?

Why would you ever break when he's drawing 2 and you have an 8 low and 7 badugi?

Rap pat, and make him pay all day to draw. We're heads-up and in position, with a nice two-way made hand against a draw-2. It's not even a question.

Does A234 k split the pot with 7 5432 in this game?

Aces play high so it's a bad badugi but a badugi nonetheless so yes, split pot.

Here's the funny part. Let's just say hypothetically villain had the exact same hand, he just threw away 87 and drew to the 234.. Power to position.

What if the other guy had 7 5432? He would scoop?

Thus A234 k contains a nut badugi (4321).

The rules might vary from place to place. Best to get the rules straight before play.

Aces are high for the badugi side, nut/nut is 2345r7

Google "does ace play high or low in badeucy?"

I think you'll get mixed answers, depending on where the game is offered.

I also think we've had this discussion before in this forum.

Fair enough- But in this particular game, the ace is high. Like you said it never hurts to clarify the rules, even in the middle of a hand if need be.

Ah. Thank you.

Badeucey: This game has an interesting history. First seen around Treasure Island in 2007, Badeucey is a split pot triple draw game whereupon the best 2-7 hand and the best Badugi split the pot. The best 2-7 hand is 23457 without a flush. The best Badugi is 2345, so the best possible hand is 2345 (rainbow) with a 7 (nut nut). The Badugi rules are explained in the Badacey section. This game has evolved a bit, as the original version had Aces be split, with the Ace playing low in Badugi but High in 2-7, and there was a 4 card qualifier to claim the Badugi side. Both of these rules went by the wayside everywhere except Imperial Palace, which still spreads the original version. In the modern version found in most Vegas mixed games, the Aces are high only, and are not cards you want to see dealt to you. It is also occasionally spread Pot Limit (usually at Aria or the WSOP), which increases the stakes dramatically, but often includes a per hand cap, depending on the limit.

Thanks, Donk Quixote.

Anywhere that I've ever seen, an Ace is always bad in Badeucey (for both sides), and any place with a clue always has that rule, otherwise it's just a bad game imo.
So I think it's pointless to discuss it with an Ace as potentially being low.
