2-7 TD Balanced Snowing

Hi fellows,

i want to ask you about a percentage of hands that you Snow. In different words, what is good and balanced snow:nonsnow ratio. For purposes of this discussion, lets say that we are always in position, villain is standard midioker reg and we are playing full ring and lowstakes like .5/1 or 1/2 ...

Q2) What are your adjustments to tight passive players and to agro maniacs. Obv the ratio will change, but how much?

Q3) Is snowing against 2 villains good idea? Against 3?

Q4) Special situation. Villain just call our snow and expose us. Right next hand snow immediately again against same villain or just chill out for few hands?

THX, for your responses.

Re: 2-7 TD Balanced Snowing

I have no idea what my snowratio is. Its more a function of the cards I get dealt. Drawing 2 low pairs on the flop vs non-pat Id snow. But I play 2-7 mostly HU now. Ive snowed 4 players(didnt go too well). If you are pat on the river with a strong line you can snow many opponents but I guess 3 is like the max I would attempt.

I dont snow as a plan for a hand right of the bat usually. So for your 4 it will not happen unless the cards dictate it, for me at least.

Re: 2-7 TD Balanced Snowing

Basically what Bjornar said. As far as "planned" snows from the beginning, I am snowing quad 2s, 3s, 7s almost always. Also 2s full of wheel cards. I've been occasionally known to snow a straight flush for the hell of it.

If I ever got dealt a royal in the game, that's also a must snow. It was more profitable that I got it dealt on a multi-line video poker machine tho...lol

For in-play, occasionally snowing two pair/trips on the turn after drawing two on the flop is also a reasonable snow move.

I would also def avoid snowing 4-way. Usually one of the players will run down a calling hand.

I think straights are often good snowing hands too. Not off the bat but for the times you draw to something like 7653 or 8654 and hit inside. Basically the more hampered your draw is and the less showdownable your hand is, the more you should consider snowing (I think - I'm no expert). Obviously it'll depend on your opponents a bit too.

8654 I think I draw if I hit a straight. Could be close. 7653 I would snow, yes.

Well, 7653 makes #3 and #18 when it hits. 8654 makes #8 and #9 when it hits. It's probably pretty close in terms of "hand quality".

7653 is at least three percentage points better than 8654 on the third draw in almost every simulation I tried.

Are you matching the hands against each other here? I'm not sure that's relevant (I imagine some of that equity will be from when they both catch the same brick). What matters is how they do against other hands. But intuitively 7653 would seem marginally better than 8654 due to the implied odds when you catch a deuce.

Re: 2-7 TD Balanced Snowing

7653 becomes 7543 when you make a straight fwiw and 7543>8654. also, dont worry about "balanced snow %'s" its really pretty irrelevant, focus on exploitative snowing.
