I was playing a 1/2 game at a buds house and got dealt T9753 and we did a round of bidding, he stood pat when it was time to discard, am i right in doing the same? Or should i have discarded my Ten? I believe I was in the right but just would like a second opinion

Depends on betting. Did u 3bet pre? Patting T9xxx is mostly standard unless you have reads.

Who was the winning bidder?

But seriously, the action does determine what is most likely to be right here. There are some spots where I would never break a T9 here and some spots where I'd never pat behind.

Given what you've said, it's probable I'd pat on the assumption he most likely has a J. But in passive games (like I'm assuming yours may be), people may underplay all their Ts. Aside from the action, this is a very common read-dependent spot.

Hard to answer if you don't specify any of the action.

I'd have definitely broken a ten, and your nine is probably in trouble even if you make it is my guess

Yeah, with no history I just fold to the fourbet because even your nine draw is dead a lot. Having gotten there, patting and turning your hand into a bluff is worth thinking about. You'll still beat all the hands 97 would have without having to draw to it.
