1/2 TD: 8752x in BvB - draw 1 or 2?

Poker Stars $1/$2 Limit 2-7 Triple Draw Lowball - 4 players
DeucesCracked Poker Videos Hand History Converter

Pre Draw: (1.5 SB) Hero is BB with A 8 7 5 2
CO folds, BTN folds, SB raises, Hero 3-bets, SB caps!, Hero calls

First Draw: (8 SB) (2 players)
SB stands pat, Hero draws how many?

I'd planned to draw one, but when he caps and pats, what's my best play? He's a good aggro player from what I can tell.

idk how light people pat at 1/2, but its probably a draw 2, and drawing 2 will rarely be a big mistake.

This.

Just food for thought, if villain is only patting 8s or better here, then you'll be drawing dead roughly half the time with 8752. I think villain has a wider range than that, but this is the strongest argument to draw 2. You're drawing dead to half of the 8 and 7-low pat combinations. Now if I know villain liberally pats 9s in this spot, then drawing to 87 is okay.

I usually draw 1 in bvb spots like this but I could be making an equity mistake. Drawing 2 to this is obviously fine.

tbh, i'd usually draw 2 and maybe try to make him break somewhere in the hand. i think people definitely pat wider than 8's+ in this spot

Yeah, if villain is this wide, I agree. It really depends on how rough villain pats in this spot.

Only 12 of the 34 nines have a straight draw. And if we know villain is going to draw 1, we'll even want to break most of those just for equity.

if he pats a 9 he only has one when he doesn't have a 2 in his hand or a 3 and an 8 (not sure how many 9s that is)

if he is not a fish i mean

Re: 1/2 TD: 8752x in BvB - draw 1 or 2?

Yeah it's definitely a leak of mine that I underestimate pat ranges. There aren't nearly as many nines as I think simply because so many of them are breakable.

Vempele: you'd break 97543 in his spot if you knew I'd draw one?

Breaking is better for equity unless you have an 8-high straight draw or an 86 (for a blocker to my straight). Not to mention RIO.

I think I'd be breaking an 87 here and look to improve on the first 2 draws.

However, I feel I'd pat an 87 on the 3rd draw. Does that make me really bad at this, I'm new to TD
