Its not that bad..

Here's my 2c worth.

I see that High Pulse has gotten a lot of flack as of lately with the reducing of GTD tournaments then the removal of them all together. But to be honest I think High Pulse has easily the best game software and cash game rakeback deal on the net. The fact that only the winner pays rake is a massive bonus to your black line and their affiliate program is the best by far!

I want to see High Pulse be successful, but I think poor management at the beginning really cost them. (the massive overlays at the start were ridiculous). I would have played them for sure but I had no idea who or what High Pulse Poker was until a month ago! There was a serious issue with 'spreading the word' of High Pulse Poker, and to be honest why would you? The more overlay in tournaments the better for the current players. Now instead of spending that $$$ on advertising they spent it on paying ridiculous overlays and now they are paying for it now (with poor traffic and NO GTD tournaments). A better option would have been to start their site as any other normal site, like small GTD tournaments, focusing on cash games to increase their revenue. Then when player sign ups start to plateau advertise some bigger tournaments. Their affiliate and rakeback deals should already attract a base number of players. (which are the ones currently playing)

I both play on High Pulse and take part in their affiliate system with bankroll starters for new players onto High Pulse Poker, at the moment traffic is steadily dropping, but that needs to change.

Re: Its not that bad..

What they need to do is get a deal with known affiliate site such as Pokerstrategy. Advertising poker site through internet banners is pretty uneffective. Also if they target new players/fish/non-grinders etc. with their advertisement, chances are none of them will be intrested because site has so few players and no games running. People are also generally careful to click gambling banners and put any money there so they need someone who can vouch for their trustworthiness.

They should make a deal with Pokerstrategy and bring back tournaments with bigger GTDs + some promos when deal is made with PS and PS start advertising HPP. Obviously it will hurt them little bit, because they also have to start paying to PS for every player they refer there + original big rakeback% and there will be not many % left of rake for HPP itself. But I really think their player pool will skyrocket if they make the deal. Pokerstrategy has thousands of active users, if not tens of thousands and HPP will have best deals of all sites what PS is atm promoting. People would really like to try it out at least.

Anyway, they can go bumpy road what they are doing right now and try to get good player pool over years or they could make a deal with Pokerstrategy and pretty much skyrocket their player pool in exchange for few % of their income.

After all, im pretty ignorant in these things, but I think it would be a good move to do something like that when their budget allows them and make a quick comeback. It is just a real shame that years of promoting in beta phase and all was wasted to some stupid gambling law.

Agreed. Their marketing was bad. With such an amazing product (software) they should have received a lot more love.

The thing is they pumped a lot of money in beta to freeroll whores. I would love to play there but unless they offer at least 50-150e tourneys running every hour I can't.

I hope they can find a solution to get back on track I I kinda feel bad they invested over 750k euros in them freerollers that just left with the money instead of playing on the site.

software is great. marketing at the start was not that bad there were around 3k players at one time. the biggest problem they had was the crashes that occured during almost every tourney.

as for putting any blame on beta freeroller whores as you call them thats just idiotic.i played during beta testing and got a nice roll i still play and up until recently iv run into plenty of guys who played during beta sure some run with their winnings but not all did that.

how do you test the product without the guys who put their time into the beta testing ?.
