That's fair enough. Marrying Maria was the best thing to happen to his career.

Best part of the show for me was Jericho grabbing a Get Well Bret sign out of a gan's hand and tearing it in half. Bonus points to the fan for getting the sign back and continuing to flash it

It's like, I get that your character is crazy Dean. You don't have to stick your tongue out ever 5 seconds.

Whatever happened to wrestlers being tough? The theme of the mid-90s was occupation gimmicks, the theme of the mid-2010s is silly dork variants.

See, I'm the opposite. I don't get how he's considered crazy.

When did this thread turn on ambrose? Was it the exploding TV or the seth mannacin promo?

Still an Ambrose mark

What was the point of this PPV? To get HHH over?

If that special wasn't on the road to wm then it would have gotten a much better reaction.

Not only that, but if they didn't call it "Roadblock" it would have been received a lot better here too. It was nothing more than a beefed up house show, and WWE treated it like that up until they decided to call it Roadblock. I thought it was a good show that did what it intended to do

I thought it was interesting how much more over h was than ambrose

It seemed like after the entrance he got no positive reaction at all

It was a show that was designed to be something bigger than a house show but lesser than a PPV. Because of the scheduling there is 7-8 weeks between Fastlane and Mania. I think this was the perfect show to put on in between to keep current subscribers interested and even draw new subscribers that were waiting for Mania to sign up. The wrestling was very entertaining, and the limited mic work was also good too.

That's a flowery way to say that it was filler.

I agree that the work itself wasn't bad. I have no real complaints about the show. It was entirely pointless in terms of advancing anything at all, but it was what it was.

I guess I would add the "the perfect show to put on in between" would actually make WrestleMania seem at least 1% more interesting, which this didn't. But again, I basically agree with the notion that in a vacuum it was fine.

I think they hyped it up to PPV level, certainly much closer to that than a house show.

They seemed to pause the Mania build to build Fastlane instead. I can certainly see how they raised expectations too high.

I don't disagree with that at all. But again I think that is how it was designed.

I don't think they did at all. Up until RAW last week, they only had two matches announced for it, and even up until showtime we still didn't know the whole card. The only thing that was PPV-ish was the fact they decided to give it a PPV like name.

They spent a decent chunk of time on Raw building up the main event of the show. By that alone it skyrockets way out of "house show" territory.

The source of the frustration with the show is that the build to Mania has been WOAT, and then when they built up Roadblock that created one more main opportunity to actually do something that built Mania up in some way. It proceeded to not build it even a little bit.

It basically feels like they passed on their last chance to make Mania interesting, since we know how unlikely they are to actually use the remaining Raws well.

This doesn't feel that out of line with the minor PPVs these days.

Incredible that we can say this the past two years and have it be true both times.
