The Backlund Heel Turn/Hart story is one of my all time favorites. I may have posted it before, but the initial Hart/Backlund match on Superstars is an underrated classic--a true technical masterpiece. Jerry Lawler's excellent heel commentary is notable as well.

Their blowoff match at Survivor Series, with the Owen/Hart Family psychology thrown in there, was also top notch.

Bob Backlund fantastic heel promo after winning.

All great, and then in classic WWF/E fashion, gets pissed away in 8 seconds to initiate one of the worst title reigns in wrestling history. FWIW, this stands as my singularly most bitter moment as a wrestling fan (even eclipsing the 2012 version of this story with DB/Sheamus at WM).

I am fully aware of recency bias but HHH and Friends will serve as the low water mark for Raw for a while IMO.

F4Wonline.com is reporting there isn't any excitement backstage regarding all the new format changes for Raw.

Most people are under the belief the show won't stay three hours for long and by the end of 2012, it will return to the original two hours. This past week when WWE began unveiling all the new Raw Active features of social media during the show, much of the WWE backstage groaned. The general feeling is the third hour of Raw was added and will be used to promote social media and plug whatever positive comments fans are saying to get themselves on television.
