The Backlund Heel Turn/Hart story is one of my all time favorites. I may have posted it before, but the initial
Hart/Backlund match on Superstars is an underrated classic--a true technical masterpiece. Jerry Lawler's excellent heel commentary is notable as well.
Their blowoff match at Survivor Series, with the Owen/Hart Family psychology thrown in there, was also top notch.
Bob Backlund
fantastic heel promo after winning.
All great, and then in classic WWF/E fashion,
gets pissed away in 8 seconds to initiate one of the worst title reigns in wrestling history. FWIW, this stands as my singularly most bitter moment as a wrestling fan (even eclipsing the 2012 version of this story with DB/Sheamus at WM).
