Although I do think Rollins has a good chance given KO/Cass have their own thing going and Rusev can cost Roman (on the preshow Rusev didn't seem done with Roman)

Cass would be an awful choice.

Vince doesn't have the grapefruits to strap Owens.

Reigns just doesn't seem right at this time.

So it's gotta be Rollins?

Thought it was obviously Rollins before they announced who was in

Totally fantasy booking here but i could get on board with The Club interfering and helping Reigns win.

KO gets the title. Causes jealously betwee. Jericho and KO so they feud

Rollins and Sami feud
Rusev screws reigns so they feud

Cass and Enzo go for tag titles

That's my guess anyways

Don't think it will be the guy that just lost a huge match for the title. I mean there must be a reason they didn't go that route in the first place, guessing they have plans for Rollins already in place. Have a bad feeling it's gonna be Reigns. Hoping for KO to somehow win it.

I don't think it's far fetched for the original plan to have Balor legitimized by winning and holding the title until the next PPV and then lose and chase Seth for the rest of the feud.

Yeah, had the same thought. It would have been odd to put Seth over at SummerSlam since it makes Balor look to be unready for primetime, but once he's shipped it you can more easily move it off him while keeping him credible. Certainly you would have expected to see a Balor vs. Seth rematch at the next PPV if Balor's arm hadn't fallen off.

I wonder if they knew that the injury was possibly this severe right away and that would have caused some sort of audible for the Reigns/Rusev match. It is hard to imagine that with all the work they did leading up to SummerSlam with the feud that the thinking was we are going to just have them brawl and then lead them into separate feuds going forward (don't believe there was any interaction between them on Raw).

I believe that Reigns was probably going to win the US title on Sunday, but they pulled the plug on that when Balor got hurt. If he was going to be out a long period of time they would have to put Reigns in the title hunt again and you don't want him to have the US title, but if Balor was only going to be out briefly or OK then you can continue the Reigns/Rusev feud.

This leads me to believe that Reigns will probably win next week, but I suppose you could also have Rollins win and then have Reigns chase him again like last year prior to Rollins getting hurt.

that actually makes a lot of sense.

one counter is that the 20 minute clean match on Raw only makes sense if they knew there wouldn't be a match on SSlam. So the other option is when they booked it they wanted Reigns to win the US title at Slam, then decided they didn't, but wanted Reigns coming out of the Rusev feud as the winner.

I doubt they knew he was that injured when reigns went out

A big problem they have right now is the lack of credible faces in the main event picture.

Unless someone turns soon, how is every main event feud not going to be Someone vs Roman Reigns for a long time.

Agreed

My view is that reigns was never booked to win the title and the match on raw was there to make him look strong without winning the summerslam match

He doesn't need to have a title shot. Just have him wrestle Brock in a best of 7 and I'd be satisfied

If the plan at that point in time was to put the belt on Reigns, I think they should have had Reigns win the title, build to a Reigns-Rollins match, and have Stephanie make Reigns do a US title defense earlier on the same day after Rusev invokes his rematch clause. Rusev wins, Reigns gets injured, and overcomes the odds to beat Rollins. Go through a few Reigns/Enzo/Cass vs Rollins/JeriKO stuff and you line up some successful title defenses for Reigns before you revisit Reigns/Rusev, at which point they try to create some sort of Lana/Sasha issue to get people to cheer for Reigns.

They announced SD Women's Title and Tag Titles. They're the same as the ones on the Raw side, but they're blue (blue straps for the tag belts). Six-pack challenge for the women's belt at the next PPV. Tag tournament starting tonight.

Also they're starting a Styles-Ziggler feud.

Also Otunga is really unspeakably bad at this commentary thing and needs to be reassigned.

The attempt to keep Styles heel is not going to work. If they're going to do Styles-Ziggler as more than a one-off PPV match, it needs to be a double-turn, because crowds are not going to support Dolph.
