it doesnt help they purposefully cut him down on return by making him a heel.
they released a documentary on his extensive recovery, gave him a big tag line of redesign/rebuild/reclaim, had him beat up reigns on return to an enormous pop, and then made him come out the next night and run down the crowd for no reason.
then he had hhh turn on him, sit out for 7 months while seth spun his wheels, and never really had the main reason for a face turn. like, bad guy got turned on but it was supposed to make him a face?
if he returns, remains a face, and wins at mitb then they dont have ambrose cash in hes incredibly over. instead they had him kind of feud with ambrose along with all the over stuff when ambrose was also over and people just didnt know how to react to him.
hopefully it goes better in the future
