I havent seen mentions of either Raw or Nitro so I would bet they dont have the contracts to rebroadcast them.

This is making a huge splash outside of wrasslin because its a massive media corporation who is embracing the Netflix style all you can eat model that is expected to disrupt the entire cable broadcast model. And it definitely does put them at the front of this change.

I think once this goes international they could hit 10 million subscribers without much problem, depending on what countries they launch in and their contract situation to broadcast new PPVs on it.

He's got a source he paid good money to inside the network.

I'm interested for sure especially for the cheap PPVs. My tentative plan is to wait and see how everything goes and then maybe start annually ordering a 7 month package or so which gets me Royal Rumble through Summerslam

I'm definitely getting it. Probably won't watch too many new ppvs but getting some old WWF/NWA/WCW/ECW matches in HD will be well worth it.

They won't be in HD.

It's impossible unless they were shot in film and I can guarantee that they weren't. You can't upscale SD footage. It will be like watching Friends or Seinfeld on blu-ray. SD over a HD stream. Better than DVD but definitely not HD.

works for me. lot of stuff that's out there now are vhs rips that aren't good at all. surely wwe will put it out better now.

Yeah it's going to be the absolute best quality you can watch the matches in which is still awesome because old WCW/ECW stuff on youtube/dailymotion/torrents looks like crap.

1. I don't vanity search.
2. I don't rage-quit either. I just drift away when it sucks and wait to see what people say I should YouTube. Eventually I get back into it.

"When the WWE Network launches you will be able to watch every PPV ever produced by WWE,WCW or ECW."

Re: Over The Edge, I've always found it strange that they went ahead with the World title change. I'm not gonna give an opinion on not cancelling the show as I don't know all the details, but it becomes harder to erase the PPV from history when a world title change occurred. It's not as though they'd have had to make any major changes since Austin just won it back a month later anyway.

Maybe they didn't want a big pop to close the PPV? I dunno.

I think that the opportunity to expand their audience will end up making it profitable. I'm going to watch 12 PPV's next year instead of watching 3-4 max (Rumble, Mania, whatever others really catch my interest is my typical trend the last 4-5 years). Could very well end up increasing ratings, box office sales, merch sales, etc as well. I'm much more likely to care about more guys because they're doing cool stuff on PPV's that I would never have watched in a million years.

Good way to build the brand IMO.

Spoiler:
IT'S GOOD FOR BUSINESS!
