Ha; I always forget that PE was in WWF since I wasn't watching closely at that point. To be fair, I would also probably take them over DOA. DOA was just 100% worthless.

It's possible Harlem Heat never had any sort of formal breakup until quite a bit later, but Booker definitely got a singles push pre-2000, since it included things like a great best-of-7 series with Chris Benoit to win a title (maybe the TV Title). I remember, when the nWo split off into having the Wolfpack and people like Sting and Luger joined, it looked to me like Booker would become at least one of the key supporting characters for the WCW group after DDP and Goldberg.

Obviously could be a thing where Booker got going in singles during a Stevie Ray injury or something.

It's consistently annoying when WCW pretended that Hogan and Piper had practically identical legendary careers. "These two men have paralleled each other's careers." No they ****ing haven't. Piper was really big; Hogan was still a much, much bigger deal beyond any reasonable comparison. I realize that lying/exaggerating to build a match is something promotions have always done, but this one was just always so ridiculous, and I'm honestly surprised that Hogan was okay with humoring it even for purposes of building to a PPV payday.

At the end of Havoc '97, a fan climbs into the cage to try to take a run at Hogan. They showed so much of this run-in with the fan that I'm puzzled to this moment about whether or not it was actually a fan just running in as a shoot. It actually seems like ti was, but I've just never seen a company actually show an actual fan run-in at length the way they did to end that show.

How the **** did Rikishi do a back flip corkscrew bump off clothelines at 400 plus pounds?

Boggles my mind

I'd argue Rikishi is the GOAT in terms of selling clotheslines

Rikishi's clothesline bump was always a pretty incredible athletic feat for his size.

Probably personally prefer Shawn Michaels's clothesline bumps from bigger wrestlers, the inside-out sell down on the mat.

What is the best PPV to watch front to back from the Attitude Era? I really like Fully Loaded 99 but I'm sure there are better out there!

It’s probably still WM X-7.

This. There are a couple duds (I'm looking at you Tazz/APA v. RTC and Ivory/Chyna) but overall almost everything, including skits, segments, and promos is highly watchable.

The Summerslam with Austin/Taker was pretty good. The one where Foley got thrown off the cage. Something from the Bret vs Austin period maybe too? Can't remember full individual cards. Maybe one of those Rumbles.

IYH: Canadian Stampede was far and away the strongest PPV of the Bret-Austin era. Just a four-show, two-hour card, but there wasn't a weak moment on it, and it featured a molten-hot crowd.

I think that was the specific one I was thinking of too. Didn't one of the Harts in the audience take some legit stiff shots at Austin?

Bruce Hart went into business for himself, certainly. And wrecked Owen's big moment in the process. Not sure I'd heard about the actual stiff shots on Austin, but it matches.

Royal Rumble 2000 was pretty great. Taz's debut vs. Kurt. Dudleys vs Hardys tables match. Rumble match. Cactus/HHH. Only two not so memorable matches on here and they're only 2:30 and 7:30.

Would argue Summerslam 02' was one of if not the best Ruthless Aggression era PPVs - wonder what it would have been like had Austin not walked out on WWE at the time (they also kept Hogan off it to sell injuries, too)

Watching the newest OSW review made me rediscover how great the build to Backland/Bret was at Survivor Series 94.

Also, Dankmus' Backland track
