The only two things that make sense for the end of WM30 are Bryan holding the title aloft or Punk doing so. Given the reactions to various events over the last couple of months, if the show closed with Orton or Batista (or some match besides the title match, which is almost impossible since nothing on the card is big enough for that) holding the title, it would represent a disastrously unpopular booking decision. WWE does not want a WrestleMania ending with a bunch of X-Pac heat on the champion. I think Batista's heel turn is an acceptance of the fact that their original plan - for uberface Batista to win the title at Mania - is a bust.

Those of you reluctant to believe that Bryan will win the title at Mania or that Punk will return, you need to consider what other options WWE has. They've booked themselves into a corner where they don't have many at all.

Well if they're just stubbornly rolling with Batista-Orton with no third participant, I feel very confident it's not going on last. They'd surely stick Taker-Lesnar or Bryan-HHH on last in that case IMO.

Through an obscure rule that says no one can be eliminated from the RR by outside interference. Kane was already eliminated when Punk was pulled over, therefore Punk was never legitimately eliminated. Punk returns, Jack Tunney investigates, and boom, Triple Threat for the title at WM.

Remember when HHH insisted on going last instead of Hogan/Rock? Lol.

....then Michael Cole spends the next 3 hours demanding to be included into a fatal 4 way because of what happened at RR 2012.

Cue Sid's music to interrupt after Punk and create a fatal four-way.

Yeah, that's true I guess. Although in an age of unified titles, it'd feel strange to have the title match not go on last.

Also, one other thing to note - even if Punk did legitimately walk out after RR feeling jaded and disappointed he wasn't going to get the WM main event, the subsequent need for a third man in the main event has now created a situation where he can get what he wants.

He's the only face on the roster big enough to be inserted into the WM main event but not currently engaged in another storyline (besides Bryan). He can, as I mentioned before, hold WWE over a barrel if he realises that he can be the answer to their Mania problems. So it's entirely possible that he could still return on Monday, even if the whole walkout thing wasn't a work.

i think there's also a small chance bryan wins the title but at raw instead of WM.

They should have DB wrestle a gauntlet match on RAW to get into the WM main event then have Punk come out and screw him over. Run heel Punk vs DB at WM and have Orton/Batista curtain jerk.

But then where would HHH go?!?!?!

Granted it's linked through BR, but reports are that Punk will return tomorrow. Could very well insta-fix the title situation:

Meltzer reported it on his show. He said that he's not 100% but the "very high up superstar" that he talked to said that "it's 100%" for Punk's return. i really hope he stays away.

not that it's really that surprising and most of us expected it to have been on some level a work i'm still disappointed they couldn't keep it under wraps for just 1 more day

then again it leaking could just be wwe begging for mercy from the chicago crowd. should be one hell of a pop. otoh if punk is in the title match and not bryan then massive lol

Honestly I think Punk gets buried by the crowd if he wins. It only works as a heel turn. I also doubt he would agree to do it.

Think I would prefer heeltista going over at mania to punk. There I said it.

I'd like to see Punk win the title at WM. Then the next night on RAW have DB come out and say Punk stole his spot, challenge him to a match and win the title.

And then no one watches WWE ever again. I hope that too.

Burn it all down, let's start over. Nothing will get better when Vince dies

It gives Punk his WM moment even if it isn't the main event and it gives the fans what they want. The title on DB.

If it isn't the main event then what does it achieve? He has already won a title match at WM during the longest ****ing reign in modern wrestling. He has no feet to stand on thinking he deserves it this year. Come back next year when you are as big as DB and we can talk.
