The fact that some debated Manning/Leaf doesn't seem particularly meaningful since there never seemed to be any question where the Colts were going with the pick. The eliteness of Manning doesn't somehow make Leaf more of a bust anyway, even though that's obviously part of why people are so married to the narrative. That, and Leaf was a huge *******, which also doesn't make him any more of a bust but it went a long way toward making people fall in love with making him the go-to bust reference.
Bowie over Jordan was too long ago.
Oden over Durant was more recent, but that was more a case of injuries--Leaf was a bust because of lack of talent, not injuries. Jamarcus Russel was a bigger bust, but there were no other top talents in that QB class (Kevin Kolb probably had the best career of that QB class. Who is he? That's my point.)
