Not being a big fan of Batista is not only welcomed. It is allowed.

Seriously though, Batista was great on Jericho's podcast. In his view, wrestling should be realistic and sensible and doesn't like how the WWE has moved further and further away from those two things over the last several years.

Batista doesn't need the WWE. He's already booked to be in several big movies over the next few years.

On his latest podcast, Meltzer says that Shingo Takagi (c) vs. Masaaki Mochizuki from Dragon Gate this weekend featured the "best single-match performance I have ever seen" from Mochizuki, that blows away any Shawn Michaels performance ever (and we all know how much he likes HBK) and is definitely a strong MOTY candidate and may have "blown every match this year away". I haven't watched it yet, so I have no comment on it, but I thought people here would be interested. So here's the link to the match:

Thanks for sharing. I'll definitely watch within a few days. Shingo is fantastic but never been a fan of Mochizuki although admittedly I've only seen a few Mockizuki matches.

Meltzer is prone to hyperbole. After Summerslam, he said something akin to "for today at least, Seth Rollins is the best wrestler in the world." But apparently a lot of people think Takagi vs Mochizuki is a great match.

Not only have I never heard of either wrestler, I've never even heard of the promotion before, but I'll watch it later this week also.

Looks like he hyper-extended it. No idea how long that takes to recover from but it can't be long especially considering he still got Kane up for a few seconds right after.

edit: googled it and it looks like it takes about 3 days. It definitely didn't look like he blew his knee out. If you've seen or can go see Jacobs vs Whitmer in a cage from ROH, you'll see what a blown out knee results in and then 9 months out.

Spectacular match. Shingo's performance the first 13 minutes is meh but it seems that he was just not taking Mochizuki seriously and then they both turned beast mode on for the remaining 12 minutes. I can see why he specifically pointed out Mochizuki for a great performance. So so good. I don't want to spoil it so I'll leave it at that but I have quite a few thoughts on the match. I'd give it like ****, maybe ****1/4, no higher.

Would def recommend Shingo vs Bryan from Dragon Gate USA and Shingo vs Davey Richards from the same promotion. Meltzer gave the former ****3/4 and didn't rate the second one.

Well yeah, of course I did, it was probably my favorite moment of 2014 Wrestling (yes more than WM XXX)

But his response to the whole thing in the end was awesome. Plus it gave us Bluetista
