Turns out that the Dudleys really are leaving.

From PWInsider:

Quote:
The Dudley Boyz' farewell tonight on Raw was a legitimate one as Bubba Ray and D-Von Dudley officially departed the company tonight and are once again free agents, PWInsider.com has confirmed.

PWInsider.com reported several weeks ago that the team had come to terms for a new deal with the company. Sources indicate that while that was correct, the new deals had not yet been officially executed and at some point over the last seven days, WWE and the Dudleys amicably agreed to part ways and that the team would finish out on Raw, dropping the teased split of the team that had been built over the last several weeks.

The angle with Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson laying out the Dudleys was designed to put some heel heat on The Club for ruining The Dudleys' farewell as well as leave a door open for a storyline if at some point the two sides decide to do business again.

We are told that when the farewell segment was over and Bubba Ray and D-Von returned to the locker room, the entire Raw roster as well as all of WWE management, including the McMahons, were waiting for them to give them a standing ovation and to greet them.

What the Dudleys' next move will be remains unclear as of this writing. The team returned last year to WWE, appearing for the company for the first time since June 2005. They had a run with WWE Tag Team champions New Day but of late, had not been in a featured position. The planned split appeared to be poised to set up Bubba Ray Dudley for a singles run.

Prior to their 2015 WWE return, the team had split up during their time in TNA, which led to Bubba Ray getting the biggest singles push of his career under his "Bully Ray" moniker, including a run with the TNA championship.

The pair operate the Team 3D Wrestling Academy outside of Orlando, Florida.

Gossip: More like my prediction for this brand split. Stephanie and Shane start feuding around Survivor Series. This ends up in a unification match at WM. The loser of the match (Shane, obv) has to "leave town forever". After WM, the brand split is forgotten about and much like around 2012, wrestlers just land on either show for random matches.

Incoming rant:
Even as someone who rarely watches the tv shows, I find it awful how they have general managers but the "commissioners" just have to be there. Why even have a general manager if they're not going to have full control which was the entire point of them, previously. Always have to have a ****ing McMahon on tv and it's just going to end up in it being all about the McMahon's, AGAIN. That, in turn, will lead to the shows not revolving around the talent which was the promise that Bryan and Mick made when they took office.

That's the dumbest **** ever if true. The brand split wasn't just a re-write of the show, it would have cost them a bunch of money. Re-branding, re-scheduling, new licenses, new promotion, new advertising pitches and a much more. For them to do all that so that it can last under a year and be part of an angle centered around the McMahons is insane(but because it's the McMahons not impossible). I'm sure they're bound to go back to one roster eventually but I'd be really surprised if it was that short lived. I do think there will be some sort of SD vs Raw element to SS though.

Agree that keeping Steph and Shane on every show is stupid and defeats the point of having a GM. Steph and Shane should show up like once a month or only at PPVs to "check in" on things.

They were hanging with Justin Gabriel, one of the Usos, Naomi and Rosa Mendes. I'm too old to be a total fanboy, but Roman and Sheamus were cool enough to say hi and chat for a minute before I felt like I was intruding. Swagger pulled the shades and looked like he was not in a mood to talk, so that kinda sucked, but we all hate flying, so hey.

Bunch of them headed to Detroit on the way to Des Moines, but then on my plane was none other than Bo Dallas, all by himself. Must have gotten screwed by the travel agent.
Did Bo behave like this on the flight?

The guy that originally reported it is saying they got some facts wrong. It was airport staff that called Rollins a dick, not Bo. Confirmed he was signing Lion King while drunk though which is all that counts to me.

He's tall, Hispanic, has a good luck, and is a solid (though never spectacular) worker. I've heard many describe him as the Mexican Randy Orton, and we all see how often they push Orton (also tall, with a good look, and is a solid worker).

I'll just quote this recent LKJ post about ADR vs. Orton that I completely agree with.

There's just something about ADR that makes me want to like him but he just never gets there and I don't care. The only thing memorable about his WWE matches are the results and not the matches themselves. I can't think of one memorable promo/angle/incident either. The best thing about him was Ricardo, slapping that guy backstage and the first time the crowd chanted "Si".

Rusev probably should have been #1 in the poll for somehow keeping his heat after the League of Nations.

Also after the Summer Rae stuff. The ability to elevate/withstand awful material is huge in WWE.

It's what makes Miz one of their most valuable performers. He and Sandow spun Mizdow into gold somehow. He elevated from the most awful material ever (the godawful Smack down Host period) to become champ.
