There's one other guy I may have seen taking here, but I pick Kurt Angle without too much consternation. Amazing in the ring and on the mic. Good longevity. Another guy who doesn't take long to elevate all the way to the top. Love love love Kurt Angle.

I'd have taken Angle and Jericho over HBK, and maybe Bret Hart over him too. I seem to be on my own here though so it may be some kind of personal bias.

You weren't on your own. Angle was my target after I got done picking Taker. Granted if HBK was around it would have been a very tough pick, but all of the toughness got taken out of the pick by the time it got to me.

HBK was wrestling match of the year candidates and looking great at an age at which even most hall of fame wrestlers are way past anything resembling a peak and getting a lot of go away heat. Like him or not, that is an amazing feat.

There's no doubting HBK's amazing ring prowess. It's everything else (mic work, drawing power, backstage intangibles) that can be called into question. I'm sure you're aware that if he's at the top of your company without a fantastic supporting cast, you're hemorrhaging money. But you've shown yourself capable of putting together a fantastic supporting cast, so...

I realise that my company is starting to look worryingly similar to current day WWE, but I plan to address that in future rounds. Punk is world class both in the ring and on the mic, and works great as both a face and a heel. He overtook John Cena in merchandise sales at the end of last year and has the potential to be the 'face of the WWE' for years to come.

HBK isn't anymore questionable as a draw then the guys taken 6-7 and 10-11, and really only Jericho of those was significantly better on the mic.
